Kurzbeschreibung

Kim Xavier steals things. She can't help it. Recovering from her shoplifting addiction has never been easy, but she's giving it a shot. When she comes home to a ransacked apartment, Kim knows she's finally taken the wrong thing from the wrong person. And she can't tell the police--especially not the cop whose heart she broke months ago.

Scott Culpepper wants Kim Xavier. He can't help it. Ever since he met the smart-mouthed woman while on patrol in New Haven, he hasn't been able to get her or her red lips out of his mind. Unfortunately, she's also got a police record, and the single dad has learned the hard way not to get involved with unpredictable women.

But when Kim is threatened by someone selling information used to harass women online, Scott steps up to keep her safe--even if it means spending more time with her than he should. The two work to unravel the case, which leads them from the dirty underbelly of the Ivy League to posh preschool parties to a drug dealer who can quote Kerouac. Though the biggest danger may be Kim stealing the very thing Scott can't afford to lose: his heart.

Stolen in Love was a great read. Sure Kim annoyed the bejeezus out of me at times, but I still liked her. I still wanted everything to work out for the best.

Kim is a thief. She has an addiction to stealing things. It gives her a rush even if she feels terrible afterward. But she is trying to get help and change her ways. She doesn't want to be a terrible person, she just thinks she is. She has a record and is not a fan of the cops (they aren't a fan of her either).

Scott is a cop. He first met Kim in the last book and was drawn to her. Only she lied to him and that hurt. A lot. He can't get close to her again and risk being hurt even more. Plus he has his daughter Lilly to think about. Lilly who seems to love Kim, but can he trust Kim around her? He can't take that chance.

When Kim comes home one night to her apartment ransacked and a scary note telling her to leave what she stole in her mailbox she runs. To her parents. Who live across from Scott. She didn't have another choice. She can't stay at her place and her sister is shacking up with the graffiti artist, her brother's place is probably disgusting, so she is going to try and put up with her mom. They don't really get along that well.

Kim has no plans of going to the police. After all they would probably just tell her she brought this on herself. If she didn't have a problem stealing this wouldn't be happening. Only her mom can't let it go at that. Thankfully she gets Scott involved and the fun began. These two are drawn to each other. They know they are not good for each other, the cop and the criminal, but they can't stay away. It was so much fun to read.

Warning: lots of gushing ahead. As much as I adore GG Andrew's Nora and Brendan books (Crazy, Sexy, Ghoulish and Scary, Lovesick, Foolish), I think this may have unseated those two as my favorite book of hers. I just loved Kim and Scott so much and was really hoping they would get their own book after reading Graffiti in Love. Kim is one of those characters that really wriggled her way into my heart. She had this mixture of sass and self-doubt and vulnerability that I really related to, and I loved seeing how she struggled with her kleptomania and what other people thought of her because of the consequences of her addiction. I've never read about a character with kleptomania before, so that was really interesting, and I think it was handled with compassion and respect. Scott was wonderful too, especially the way he cared for his daughter Lily, and came to care for and stick up for Kim, even though he tried to fight it at first and it came at a cost for him in his position as a police officer. That conflict and and Kim coming to terms with her own self-worth really made for some delicious very real tension between the two of them. I got choked up so many times while reading.
The mystery/suspense element was really fun, too, especially how it resolved and I loved the introduction of some new characters like Hutch and Carter who I hope we'll see in future books.

Got hooked and couldn't stop reading. Goes to show you can't help who you fall in love with. Lily sounds like an absolute doll. Scott sounds like a hunk and Kim sounds a little crazy but trying to get her life together. Definitely recommend.

They know they are not good for each other, the cop and the criminal, but they can't stay away. It was so much fun to read. Kim is not always the smartest, she thinks she is a terrible person and makes terrible decisions at times, decides to lie and keep things from those trying to protect her, but when she gets stressed she feels out of control. She is in recovery, but that doesn't mean she doesn't slip up, especially with everything that is going on. For as much as she frustrated me I still loved her.

I loved these two. They both have baggage, things they haven't really worked through, but they care about each other. It was fun. And how everything worked out, who was involved and what was going on, I absolutely loved. We also were introduced to some fun new character storylines and I hope we get a few stories for them. I wouldn't mind reading about Hutch and want to know the story with Kim's brother. Overall this was a great read. These two were so much fun together.

5.0 von 5 Sternen Loved this book so more than just a romance 13. Mai 2017
Von Louise H - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Can I give this book 10 stars? I would if I could. Why? Not many books make me properly cry, as in ugly cry, as in red face, lots of tears and a wobbly bottom lip cry, but this one did.

For me this had a perfect mix of genres, there was the expected romance, a good chunk of intrigue/mystery/suspense and a lot of Kat trying to like herself. Don't take this the wrong way (I'm a mum of three) but I'm not always a huge fan of kids in a book, but Lily is super amazing and allows us to see how wonderful both Scott and Kat are as people.

The romance was well written, had the expected angst and misunderstandings, although this was done very differently to those 'production line' books. It had unusual and unique elements, it had humour, it had heat, it had good chemistry and I totally believed in Kat and Scott as a couple. The mystery part was really gripping, it had some very unexpected twists and turns and gave the story a really good pace.

What really made this book for me was experiencing Kim's inner thoughts and feelings. Usually if a book makes me cry it's when the couple have the (inevitable) break up before they get back together. Not this book. No I cried at how little Kim thought of herself, how much she felt she was bad, worthless and undeserving of love. She was a strong, feisty heroine on the outside, but so broken on the inside and felt so unworthy and I loved her and all her perfect imperfections. Scott was a bossy but caring hero, torn with his attraction to someone who should be his nemesis, but seeing the true worth of Kim even when she couldn't see it herself.

It must be obvious by now but I will say that the writing is of the highest quality, has a flowing and very easy to read style and is thoroughly captivating. The book is written in the third person, with each chapter based around one of the characters. I found it easy to know who the author was writing about or who was speaking, never lost track of the plot and ended up reading into the small hours because I just didn't want to put this book down.

I haven't read Book 1, this book does contain spoilers for it but I could follow the story in this book with no problems. I'm just wondering who is up next, I'm hoping for Hutch and Carter but am also keeping an eye on Ian and Prue.
5.0 von 5 Sternen Sassy kleptomaniac steals sexy cop's heart 14. Mai 2017

Stolen in Love by G.G. Andrew is Book 2 of the Love and Lawbreakers series and a Romantic Suspense

Barista and kleptomaniac Kim Xavier moves back with her parents after coming home to a trashed apartment and a threatening note that said "Give it up bitch. Put the thing you took in your mailbox." Kim teams up with the handsome Officer Scott Culpepper for the investigation and after getting to know each other, they start dating. Kim finds out that "the thing" is a flash drive with a list of women who are being harassed on the internet. Kim starts contacting the women from the list to inform them of the situation and to figure out who's responsible. When Kim sees her boss Boyd's girlfriend Savannah's name on the list, she suspects Boyd is the mastermind and after speaking to Savannah, Kim tells Savannah to hold off on speaking to Boyd until she hears from her. Scott breaks up with Kim when he finds out she's back to stealing but can't stop missing her and goes to Kim's workplace Hot Haven to figure things out. Boyd realises something's wrong when Savannah doesn't take his calls and kidnaps Scott and ties him up. When Kim arrives at Hot Haven, Boyd tells Kim and Scott that they're going to allow someone else take the fall and stop asking questions. If Kim and Scott refuse, Boyd's going to have his henchman pay a visit to Scott's daughter Lily and her grandmother who's babysitting Lily. Kim knows Boyd isn’t going to let them live and comes up with a plan. Will Kim be able to to save them all?

Stolen in Love is funny, suspenseful and steamy. G.G. Andrew paired a riveting story with engaging characters for a book that's a page-turner. I highly recommend this book.
