Shade is everything Lily doesn't want in a man. He's rude, obnoxious and he's definitely not a cowboy. The tattooed enforcer for The Last Riders is a mystery Lily doesn't want to solve. He's too much for her to handle, especially with the nightmares from her past constantly threatening her sanity.

Lily is everything Shade wants in a woman. She's sweet, kind and submissive. When she discovers the truth about The Last Riders, it threatens to tear apart every relationship within the club. Her rebellion causes the predatory instincts to rise in the ex Navy SEAL sniper.

When The Last Riders are threatened by another motorcycle club just as determined to claim Lily, Shade is her only hope of surviving the approaching confrontation. Could their passion be Shade's downfall?

This work of fiction is intended for mature audiences only. All sexually active characters portrayed in this ebook are eighteen years of age or older. Please do not buy if strong sexual situations, multiple partners, violence, drugs, child abuse, domestic discipline, and explicit language offends you.

3.5 Stars

Fans of Jamie Begley's Last Rider's series have been impatiently waiting for Shade and Lily's story since we were introduced to them in Razer's Ride. We have watched Shade want Lily while he was waiting for the right time to claim her as his own thinking that their story is going to be the one that actually sets our Kindles or Nooks on fire. Unfortunately in reality what we get is a watered down version that was filled with contradictions and made me feel at times that I was attending a Sunday Church service. Now before you all try to come and lynch me, I did like it but I did not love it like I have with the previous books. Also finding out that I should have read the books in her VIP series first because they tie into Shade's Fall was irritating as well.

We all have known that Lily has issues. It was plain and obvious from the start that something happened to her that made her basically scared of her own shadow. She is a walking contradiction at times. Lily hates being around alcohol but yet is upset that she isn't allowed in the clubhouse of The Last Riders, her dream man is a "cowboy" as a husband and have a family, yet she won't have sex with anyone. One minute she is scared of bikers, the next she can walk right up and talk to one like he was a Pastor at a church. The list goes on and on. I was really hoping that Lily would come out of her shell and turn into that wild child that was sometimes hinted at in other books. That she would be worthy of being a Last Rider and her membership is never even brought up. When you learn what happens to her before she came into Beth's family it is heart breaking and you understand better why she is the way she is. The way she moves past it just has my head shaking like really what did I just read.

Shade is still as sexy as ever but even he is tamed down and not at all the overly dominant man that he has been previously. He is still possessive and is dominant but I thought he would be a lot more by the way we have been lead to believe. In previous books you just know how sexual this man is, that if you spent time with him you would walk away very satisfied but in this one it's like he is a shell of his previous self. I was waiting for some of those super-hot scenes that we are used to when getting votes for membership and here it's quickly mentioned that he has markers for some votes but nothing is said about Lily officially joining. He goes after Lily finally in his own way, his approach at times had me rolling my eyes and asking what are they in Kindergarten?

Overall I am let down by Shade's Fall, I had such high hopes and could not wait for this one to release and when I was finished reading I felt a sense of disappointment of being let down by a book that was just ok in my opinion. I hope that the next book in this series is back to the level that I have come to expect in this series.

Note from DiDi - I agree 100% with Cheyenne's review, but I give it 3 stars. Maybe I gave it lower because I DID read the VIP series before Shade's Fall and that OMG! part in TAINTED that ties into Shade's Fall in a major way, was really anti-climatic, it was like "Oh really? Ok." Three days after finishing the book and I am still disgusted with the way Shade treated Lily, I did love the way he pulled off that ONE special moment, but even that didn't really fit with the way he had been treating Lily. I was really disappointed in Shade and Lily's story, it just didn't live up to all the build up in the previous books. *Maybe SPOILER* I don't feel the scene with Lily, Diamond, Knox and Shade was true to Lily or Diamond's character, or even Shade's he couldn't stand for other men to even hug Lily, yet he had no issue with Knox seeing her naked?? Another HUGE issue for me was Lily's safe word - anyone with any minimal knowledge of BDSM knows the safe word is the most important aspect to the sub giving her trust. It means that ANYTIME she feels unsure, unsafe, pushed beyond her limits she can use it and her Dom automatically stops. Shade didn't allow this with punishments and I totally wanted to throw my Kindle across the room.****

And PLEASE! I hope Ms. Begley gets rid of that skank Bliss, she is a troublemaker and always plays the "Oh I'm so sorry!" card when she gets caught!!! I have no interest at all in stories for Evie, Stori, Bliss or any of the female club members. I can't suspend my belief far enough to believe any man would let his woman continue to be around all the guys she screwed many times many ways. I have a hard enough time believing Winter, Diamond, Beth and Lily allow their men to still be around Evie and crew. Of course when the men straight out tell them that if they want to be with them they have to accept Evie and crew, I guess these women put up with it. Honestly I don't find Winter, Diamond, Beth or Lily to be strong leads, they give in to easy. The only females I feel are strong and I want stories for are the women in Sex Piston's crew. The whole way the women are voted into the Last Riders and the fact the old ladies/wives have to continue to interact with the Last Riders women club members, regardless of how the other women have hurt the old ladies/wives feelings is the one thing I hate about the series, but for some reason I just can't quit reading it. I really like Ms. Begley's VIP and Biker Bi***es series better, the heroines are strong in both of those series.

Having read the previous books in the Last Riders series and been intrigued by the characters, I wanted to read this book to finally learn about Lily's painful past and how she and Shade FINALLY manage to get close and fall in love, etc. What a mistake. The writing in this book is unbelievably dull, superficial, even immature. The story goes NOWHERE for most 80% of the book. Every other scene the sexually liberated members of this "bike club" are at a church service (yep, you heard me) and then to the diner across the street for lunch. Over and over again. Or they're packing boxes fulfilling orders at their factory. I kept reading, hoping and thinking things/the plot would surely move along, move forward. They did not. Only at the very end did a ton of information come up explaining things.

Lily indeed suffers from a major trauma in her past. They way it is revealed is lame, lacking any punch. Throughout the story she comes off as childlike and childish. Like Knox before him, Shade buys all new bedroom furniture and stays celibate-- for months--until he gets his girl between the sheets. If you believe that of such an oversexed male belonging to such a sexual playground type of club, I've got a bridge to sell you.

The author has a strange combination of raunch and moral good girl stuff going on especially in this book and it does not work right. Maybe she can't make up her mind. Her constant use of the "c" word is telling. (Oh! Nasty!) It could've all been interesting, but she is unable to take it there in a whole, dramatic way.

When Shade and Lily actually get married, (wait, they fell in love??) you think, oh yay, emotional payoff, we get to enjoy these two in a moment of happiness, but no. Ms. Begley deals with it in such a cutoff, short, sketchy way it was unbelievable. I had to backtrack to make sure I had read it right.

There was not much Friday night party action or initiation as in the other books, which had always kept the tension high in these stories. Here Shade is a BDSM dom, by the way. Silly. He actually whips her and she likes it from the get go. For a girl who's got so many intense, serious psychological trauma issues and is hyper childlike/virginal in her outlook and response to the loose living around her, this was ridiculous and just plain wrong. But I guess we had to get the "erotic" factor in there somehow. Let's not even begin to deal with how they should have taken her to a therapist immediately! No, better for Master Shade to punish her, right, Sir? Then he keeps ignoring her use of their safe word. Whatever.

In my opinion, not worth the $4.99. Sorry.

I'm always a little apprehensive when it comes to finally reading a book you've been hanging out for. Your expectations are set so high but you're secretly a little scared it's not going to be as good as you imagined.
Well, I'm glad to say this book definitely hit the mark for me. I love Lily and couldn't wait for her book especially after reading "Tainted". Shade is super hot and I was interested to see how the BDSM thing was going to be handled. Loved that it was used in a way to reach Lily and help her focus (or at least, that's how I took it).
For the first half of the book, I was cringing every time Shade's past keep being brought up. Not fun to constantly be surrounded by women who have 'been with' the man you're in love with. But the second half of the book had me swooning with how much Shade shows Lily how much he loves her. He goes above and beyond to keep her safe and I loved that about him.
My only gripe is it seemed she was never given time to fully experience her emotions. Like when she got mad at him about the jacket, he shut her down and she ended up the one to apologise. In my opinion, she did nothing wrong and was making a point. I wished she could be more independent and stronger than what she was by the end of the book, but in hindsight, she's come a really long way. Shade's perfect for her. He can be a little controlling which was kind of frustrating for me personally, but it seemed to work for Lily. I look forward to reading more about them in future books.
Speaking of future books...loved the setup and can't wait to read more :)
4-4.5 stars from me

1.0 von 5 Sternen Why is it wrong for the women to be mad? And stop turning then into whores 23. März 2014

The book starts out so good and then you write something that makes me so mad it ruins the stupid book. How about in the future books, don't turn the good girl into a whore. Have the guy change for her, stop forcing the women, it gets old.

I hate how he can be jealous with Charles but the moment she gets jealous of the women he has slept with, he spanks her. I didn't like the bdsm side because I thought it was a joke. The whole safe word, you ignored every time she used it.

I really did not like Shane in this book, I have no idea why Lily is supposed to like him. Where in the he'll was the romance. He forced her to do things.

The point you lost me was the punishment, whipped, for her getting upset that another women was wearing his jacket. Shade can say all he wants that he told her to give that jacket back but he should of made her, did he? No,he wanted to be the nice guy and gave her a punishment for a month. And Lily has no right to get mad but he wants to kill rider just because she was going to touch another man's jacket.

I also did not like the whole sex with Knox and diamond. I don't believe Lily or diamond would like it, that is why I liked them. I like that the women don't want to share, that why I liked them the most but now not so much. Now I have a hard time liking them. Shade and Knox just went bad in my book after that, I didn't see the point to that part. With her past, you want us to think she will want to have others watch her have sex? Sorry but no.

Shade was yo much of a jerk, not a Dom because hello never stopped when she gave her safe word and he punished her when he was in the wrong and she would be upset.

Just one of these stories should give the woman a little respect. Dont make the good girl turn into on of the other girls. let the man change instead of forcing her, you did it with Knox and diamond but then you changed them back in this book. I do get tired of every one being whore.

I'm looking forward to next books. Cash and Rachel. Train and kill a mama. Lucky and ?

I did like the story was longer but it could of been much better.

5.0 von 5 Sternen Best of the series so far!! 22. März 2014
Von MissSmoak - Veröffentlicht auf

Finally, Shade and Lily's story! It was all kinds of AWESOME!! BEST OF THE SERIES SO FAR!!

I have to say, Shade's patience in waiting for Lily was pretty darn extraordinary. Even though he was controlling and a little demanding, he still moved at a slow pace for her. He was out-of-this-world loving, caring, devoted and protective of her. Shade practically worshipped at the altar of Lily and I LOVED it!

And dear, sweet Lily. It absolutely broke my heart when she found out about The Last Riders. She had been so in the dark, for so long- Being banned from the clubhouse, never invited to parties. It's understandable why she felt so betrayed, especially by the people she trusted the most.

But, WOW. I knew Lily's past was troubled but I didn't realize just how bad it was for her. Poor, poor Lily.

On the bright, sweet, heart-bursting-with-love side... I LOVED it when Lily's love and need for Shade grew stronger and stronger. When she ran to him first, instead of Beth, knowing he would always be there for her, when she was happy with pleasing him... it was so cute. I LOVED her wildcat streak too!

When Shade and Lily came together... it was HOT! All of that build up and sexual tension was worth it. It was naughty, fun and panty-dropping-worthy!

LOVED IT! Pastor Dean (aka P.D.)... something big happens with him! It makes me want to re-read every scene P.D. has been in in this series.

My other LOVED-its (and there is so much to love about these scenes):
*The big reunion between Sawyer, Vida and Lily.
*Lily's Halloween pole dancing- The reactions of Shade, Cash & Train were priceless!
*Shade, Lily and two other participants "playing" around...
*Shopping and lunch with Sex Piston and her crew- They'll give it to you straight, that's for sure.
*Beth and Razer's scene at the end of the book = Major warm fuzzies.

There are also some throat-punch-worthy people in this one.
*Surprise, surprise. Bliss takes my number one spot, just like in the other books. Little Miss Submissive needed to back off and tone her flirt down. She drives me bonkers!
*And talk about toning your flirt down... Raci's pot-smokin' jacket scene ticked me off too. Even if you're in a drug-induced haze, you do not touch anything Lily has claimed! Loved Shade's explanation of how he told her off.
*Last but not least, Charles. You dirty little coward. Yea, that's right... you run away, far away, with your tail between your legs.

Really liked the epilogue but I wish there was some sort of reference to how much time had passed. I get a little confused between all of the books' epilogues, timeframe-wise.

Fingers crossed that Lucky's story will be next! He is certainly an enigma!!

*I highly recommend you read these books in this order to enjoy the full experience: Razer's Ride, Viper's Run, Knox's Stand, Sex Piston (Biker Bitches series), Teased and Tainted (VIP series) and then Shade's Fall.
