So geht's:

4.5 stars - A good player, however perhaps due to it's age, there are a number of minor problems
Rezension aus dem Vereinigten Königreich vom 14. Mai 2012Verifizierter Kauf
The Sansa Fuze has been available for a number of years and there is now a newer version. I bought this one as it's a bit cheaper and I don't really like the style of feel of the Fuze plus.
This item is currently (May 2012) sold by I-Zone deals, a Canadian based company, so standard delivery will take a while, mine took 3 and a half weeks to arrive. You may thus wish to pay a bit more for faster delivery.
It is dispatched in a plain sturdy cardboard box with the player wrapped in some bubble wrap. There is no manual, though this can be downloaded from the I-Zone website, and the supplied earphones are rather basic.
My unit had the latest, and last, firmware installed - V02.03.33P. It is very unlikely that there will be any updates to this, so there is little reason to install Sansa's update software unless you want to add videos to the player. It uses an odd format and they need to be converted. Unfortunately I could not get the Sansa updater to download the required conversion software at all, it just sulked and threw up odd errors (stating there was no hard drive for example). This might be due to the player's age and the fact I am using a 64 bit version of Windows 7. Thankfully there is a freeware programme called Video4Fuze available on the net and this worked fine for me. However since it's a download the usual caveats apply regarding it not working for you, possibly installing a virus, trying to take over the world etc.
Sansa state that there are a number of minor issues with the latest firmware. In no particular order they are;
The is no 'gapless' playback, meaning that there is a short pause between tracks, not a problem normally but this may be an issue for you if you listen to long pieces of music and they are split across tracks on the original cds, there would be a short period of silence between each track.
The player takes a long time to update it's internal database if it has more than 6000 songs on it. I haven't found this to be an issue yet - but then don't have that many stored. There is an update delay when you add/remove songs so suspect this just gets longer.
The EEC passed some legislation restricting the maximum volume on portable devices and some people have found the MP3 players that follow it are not loud enough for external speakers, cars etc. The fuze has an option to set the volume for the USA, EEC or rest of the world - mine asked when I first turned it on - and selecting rest of the world solves this problem.
The Fuze comes with some preloaded music, photos and a video which Sansa have hidden for some reason - they do not show up in a normal Windows explorer window. To remove them you either have to format the player, or set it into MTP mode (its in Settings > system settings > USB mode) and set your pc to display hidden files. A pain if you don't want the supplied items.
In use it is recognised by windows 7 and you can sync and copy items straight from Windows media player. You can also simply drag and drop files from Windows explorer. Indeed you will have to use the latter if you wish to add videos or music stored in Ogg or Flac format as Windows media player still can't handle these.
You can store audio books and although there is no bookmark facility there is a resume function. So you can pause, perhaps listen to some music, and then go back to where you left off. This also works for videos.
The screen is very clear and videos are watchable, though I doubt if I will be using this facility much due to the screens size and the fact that it eats the battery (5 hours video playback, 18 music).
It sounds really good, there is no emf interference when the menus update and the sound is good without being base or top heavy. There is an equalizer with presets or you can customize it to your own tastes.
The build quality is good, but Sansa use their own form of plug to connect the player to a computer. This is wide and quite difficult to remove if you have the headphones connected.
The built in radio is OK, and you can save presets. I found that I had to manually tune some stations even though once tuned they gave a good strong signal.
Overall its a very good player, worth the price and I hope will give many years service, I say hope as a number of reviewers have had reliability issues. 4.5 rather than 5 stars due to the problems with the video conversion and that plug is a pain to remove without unplugging the headphones all the time.

Fantastic product at a fantastic price
Rezension aus dem Vereinigten Königreich vom 16. Juni 2012Verifizierter Kauf
I Received my Sansa Fuze 8gb MP3 player well within the delivery date advertised. I was a little concerned as was visiting my daughter in the UK and had it delivered to her address to collect there. I sent an email to the seller who promptly replied advising that they are usually delivered much sooner than advertised assuring me that I should receive it in good time of my departure date. But explained that as they are sent from Canada that Amazon usually allow the extra time to avoid customer disappointment.
I had spent a great deal of time reading customer reviews on various different MP3 players and wasn't sure whether to just have the Sansa without facility to store pictures and videos as I wasn't sure I would use it. Anyway, I finally decided to go for the Sansa Fuze ultimately because of the screen size. I am REALLY pleased with my choice! It is very easy to use and the display is clear and sharp and in my opinion very easy to read. That was a relief after my old M-robe which had finally given up the ghost and in any case couldn't be seen in strong daylight so defeated the object as originally bought it to take on holiday.
I was concerned as to whether the sound quality would be good enough as I bought this on a budget which I didn't want to blow by having to buy another set of earphones. But again I was very pleasantly surprised and find them very good quality. I also bought the 16gb Sandisk memory card which now gives me some 24gb of memory. From what I have read it may be necessary to manually switch from one memory to another, but because of the amount of space available I don't consider this to be a problem and it certainly wouldn't put me off buying it.
As to it's ascetic appeal, I just can't fault the design. IT IS TINY! but at the same time the functions are so easily accessible that you can't help marvel at how much thought has gone into the design. Took a few minutes to figure out that you rotate the wheel rather than clicking up/down left/right (and had a few words exclaiming it didn't work!) But then found out you rotate the disc to move the highlighted line up and down (DOH!) This is actually a very good design because it causes less wear and tear on the wheel than a click would. And I am not a lover of touch screens as my last one had one and no matter how careful you are, they do get scratched.
One of my considerations was that the battery life be at least 8 hours for playback as anything less is not very practical if you are spending the day on the beach etc: I haven't had much time since returning, to put that to the test but previous reviews have stated that it has about a 10 hour playback which suits me perfectly.
Because the display is SO crystal clear and sharp, I now intend on saving some of my favorite photos on it so I can carry them around with me.
Previous comments advised that you cannot switch it off but you can. You press and hold the on/off switch up until it closes down. It even says "GOODBYE" to you! Lol! If you press down it locks the controls to avoid accidental usage. Another comment also mentioned the volume control being at 50% power because of EU health and safety regulations (PLEASE!) but as this has been sent from Canada it has been preset for there. I know it has been suggested to set it for "rest of world" rather than U.S. (or North America/Canada) as radio stations may be affected with preset selections. I haven't had a problem but then I haven't used the radio much yet. At least you know you can change the settings to "rest of world" and that will resolve any possible issues.
I have been sitting here racking my brains trying to find something negative to note but honestly cannot think of a single thing! That being the case, I have no reservations whatsoever in awarding 5 stars for this amazing little MP3 player not only for the product, but at the price offered! Well done Sansa (made by Sandisk)and well done Amazon for another little gem! Thank you.

Very nice player
Rezension aus dem Vereinigten Königreich vom 3. Juli 2009Verifizierter Kauf
I bought the 8GB Fuze in June, use it daily and I'm pleased with it.
I love the small size. For a portable player convenience is vital and this player has it. The playback controls are completely obvious and can be used without looking, i.e. while the player is still in your pocket. The rest of the controls and menus only take a few minutes to explore and become familiar.
The earphones are the usual portable player earphones, i.e. not great. If you spend £20 or so on some better ones you can transform the sound quality and your enjoyment, because the player itself is a good one.
Sound quality is very good. If you spend an awful lot more you will get a player which sounds a little better, but the differences are not that obvious and you might be hard pressed to notice even on a side by side comparison with most music.
While video playback on such a small screen is better than you might expect, the small size rules out a lot of content....you won't be watching any widescreen movies on this one!
Photo viewing is similar, it's OK but in the end the screen is too small to make this very appealing.
I guess most people buy a tiny player to listen to music, not watch movies or view photos, and the Fuze is very good for this. As well as the usual MP3 and WMA it also plays Ogg Vorbis and Flac. I like the fact it displays embedded cover art and works equally well with playlists and album directories and individual tracks, so however you like to organise your music, or if you just dump it all in one folder, the Fuze will make life easy for you.
The MicroSD slot is a huge bonus. I added a cheap 16GB card so now I have a 24 GB player for not much money.
Battery life is excellent, as described, and it charges quickly from USB.
The player supports a regular USB storage mode as well as MTP so you don't have to sync it with a computer media player if you don't want to. You can just drag and drop or copy/move files and folders which is as simple as it gets.
The FM radio works well, better than in some other personal players I have.
Everything you need is in the box. There's no need for a supplementary charger, extra cables, adapters etc. like with certain players/brands.
Downsides: If you use the MicroSD slot with cheap cards they are slow to read and write so transferring files, and the player refreshing its database afterwards, can be painfully slow. Fast cards (class 4,5, or 6) cost a huge amount more than the cheap (class 2) ones. If you're not often adding new tracks in bulk then this doesn't matter much.
Sansa offer a Media Converter program for converting movies and photos. It's Windows only and is the only way to get playable movies on the player, so Mac OSX and Linux users are out of luck. The program does a decent job of conversion but it is not the most stable application you'll ever use and may crash when converting a batch of files. The worst aspect of it is that it requires the player to be connected, the conversion can take some time and the player can't be used while it's connected.
Overall I'd recommend the Fuze because it sounds good, is nicely designed and offers a lot of features and expandability for not much money. I think it's exceptional value. If you spent the same money on a player from one of the bigger names you'd get half the storage, no radio, usually no extra memory slot too. I think the big test for me is if I lost it would I buy another one or something else? I would probably buy another Fuze. I have a couple of players which sound better but they cost many times more and are much bigger. The Fuze is the one I stick in my pocket most days and actually use.

As a player it would be 5 stars, its compact, sound quality is superb and i can't for the life of me see how reviewers can criticise the earphone, i found them great. Battery life is exceptional for it's size (well it is now)
Now the not so good the Fuse was a gift for my birthday which was to fall on my holidays, i charged and loaded the player with music, then it was wrapped.
On my birthday i started playing music through multi media speakers, it was great, unfortunately after around 3 hours the player just stopped? nothing, dead, no functions what so ever, it would not charge with a mains adapter or through my laptop. I tried a number of times through the day, same result.
Next day just out of interest i tried again and it charged, great i thought, just a hiccough. I left it charging and playing at the same time for a number of hours, later when i disconnected it to play outside, it lasted just 25 mins and died again, tried a number of times to recharge, same result.
Next day, yes you guessed it, it charged again, this time though it refreshed all my media? Since then it has been superb, i even ran it to flat to see if i had the same problems, but it was perfect.
On my return i contacted Amazon for advice, they suggested i keep the Fuse (which i like a lot) and said they would place a note on my file and would replace it if i had any further problems, you can't get fairer than that. Thanks Amazon.

LOVE SANSA FUZE !!!
Rezension aus dem Vereinigten Königreich vom 23. Februar 2010Verifizierter Kauf
I bought this in May last year and I love it. I has been my constant companion especially for downloading entire books from Audible.co.uk. I can carry on doing whatever I want whilst listening to very well read books and it makes boring chores a dream.
I take it on travels and can watch passing scenery without having my head buried in a book. Music is excellent too from rock to classical. I have added an 8GB memory card so its capacity is huge. I have not even downloaded photos or videos yet but that is for another day ! Oh yes, the FM radio is another bonus. I would be bereft without it. It is worth getting a silicone skin and strap to protect it. I found the polycarbonate ones tend to pop open, so had to stick it together with sticky tape ... not so good.
I have just bought 2 XMI-MINI 2 speakers to add another dimension to this little wonder. One note - if you want to do this too is to change the settings for USB to NORTH AMERICA or WORLDWIDE as UK/EU does not allow volume control of the speakers(Nanny state)!
This Grannie is very happy with this little baby !!!
