Man braucht oft gar keinen frischen Salatmix, bzw.

‘Salad Samurai’ by Terry Hope Romero is kind of book I have long sought. Due to changes in diet that I had to do a year ago due to problems with my pancreas, overnight I had to radically change the ingredients of the stuff I eat, and instead meat my meals had to become based on vegetables.

As the author humorously began her book – if you don’t meat, ordering a meal in restaurant usually drifts to the inevitable rendezvous with salad. But the problem with salads is that it takes much more to make good salad than just throw in some vegetables, oil and vinegar - probably that is the reason why many people do not consider eating salads, always associating them with the same boring and simple ingredients, as a relief from “real” cooking.

Starting from dressings are toppings which are her two first subjects, author will lead us to the salads conveniently organized by the season introducing many interesting ingredients which raise your salads to a whole new level.

Either you make them for your guests or only for yourself to enjoy, Romero is giving 100 ideas how to prepare salad that is not a side dish, but a main meal not only for vegetarians, but also for all those who want to rest a bit from the meat.

Besides providing many ideas that you will be excited to try, the overall look and feel of the book is something that makes it different from other – it was no wonder to hear that three years ago Terry was named Favorite Cookbook Author by VegNews.

Beautiful illustrations, handful of ideas, some exotic ingredients and a lot of creativity are the ingredients that make this book excellently prepared, and Romero salads something that you cannot wait to try.

Was mir an dem Buch besonders gefällt:
