  • Best practices for how to calculate an appropriate student tuition model

  • Dispelling the myth of contract and membership agreements and protecting your assets

  • The power and influence of proper communication with your students

  • How to deal with unruly members and guests

  • A new paradigm for student ranking, it's importance in the Dojo and how the industry gurus have it all wrong

  • Running a traditional martial art school in the 21st century, how we must adapt and stay smart

  • How the internet has leveled the playing field for honest teachers and charlatans

  • Understanding the priority of your martial art school's digital content

  • Crafting value based content for maximum online visibility

  • Web marketing basics for a traditional martial arts school

  • How to manage your online reputation and that absolute necessity it must take in your daily routine as a martial arts teacher

  • Content Piracy, you will be robbed. How it's a good thing.

  • ..... and much more.

Adam Mitchell takes the reader through his story, from a struggling martial artist working in a bicycle factory while growing his school, through a collapsed partnership and into the darkest period of his life. It was all for his students and his art. This book is as much a memoir as it is a step-by-step guide for anyone looking to start a Dojo or grow their already existing traditional martial art school without stepping away from their values.

A very interesting alternative on how to run a dojo, compared to the mainstream coaches. I am happy I found this book.

    5.0 von 5 Sternen Highly recommended 27. Juli 2014

So glad I bought this ebook. We run a traditional dojo and make a living doing so. I've subscribed to many of our industry's consulting/information services through the years but struggled with a lot of the advice to add this program or that program, close the sale in the first 5 minutes, intro or no intro, many suggestions just didn't fit with our core values of running a dojo. Adam's book is different and he makes it clear that his ideas are not "get rich quick or shortcuts to avoid the hard stuff". Not everything Adam does in running his dojo is something I would do in ours, and he doesn't suggest that one does that., but his insights and suggestions help to get your own creative juices flowing. One of my main reasons to check out this book was to see how closely his ideas were to what our core values were and would it be worth investing in his online course of the same title. Yes it is! I've started that course, but there is a lot to it and will take me a while to go through it. Like the book, it's not a quick read for me, but something to take my time with and study.

5.0 von 5 Sternen Keep it REAL, TRADITIONAL and SUCCESSFUL without selling out! 26. September 2014

Amazing! At last a proven method on how to run a TRADITIONAL martial arts Dojo. Throw away all those books with a comercial aproach and cancell all your business consulting memberships. This book and your passion for sharing your Budo is all you'll need. You CAN run a traditional Dojo without seeling out: no more cardio kickboxing, sleepovers, pizza night, and all those ad on programs, membership upselling and other business practices that leave you feeling dirty and degraded. I currently apply the framework proposed by this book and I now run my Dojo full time (dream come true!). I trust the author as I have witnessed his Dojo, his clases and students first hand and it was and eye opener. So grab a pen and paper cause your brain will be boiling with new ideas that you'll want to apply immediately! The book talks to traditional Dojo owners, training group leaders an those thinking on opening a Dojo. Keep it real guys! And keep it budo! All the best.

4.0 von 5 Sternen A breath of fresh air in an industry that needs a bit of "spring cleaning"!!! 15. Januar 2016

I bought this book just before Christmas on a whim, and what a breath of fresh air! Unlike virtually every other book about running a martial arts school that I've read or read about, Adam has put out a great book about running a TRADITIONAL martial arts dojo, without 'selling out' and going commercial. He does run it as a business however, (successfully I might add!) and not as a volunteer organization. Like some of the other reviewers, I don't know that I would use everything he discusses, there is a lot here that I CAN use, and some great thought-seeds to develop my own ideas. Thank you Adam, for putting this out there - I'm really glad I bought the book. As an aside, his course by the same name is also well done, although it is a little more disjointed than the book as it was put together with video and audio that Adam had developed over time and for other formats. Don't let that detract you from signing up for it though!
