"Roosters of the Apocalypse" describes predictions of looming catastrophe from global warming as an apocalyptic prophecy with a scientific gloss, making it palatable to the modern mind. The book's title comes from Richard Landes's study of millennial movements: Landes calls those who crow an exciting new message demanding urgent action "roosters." In this case, the action is to sacrifice fossil fuels, the lifeblood of our economy. Dire consequences do indeed loom as a result of "climate change" but they are economic and the book describes them: billions wasted on uneconomic "green energy," millions forced into "fuel poverty" by green levies, jobs lost as industries are destroyed or forced abroad. The damage has been greatest in Europe, but under President Obama, a committed climate rooster, the U.S. headed down the same path. Individual states, California foremost among them, have enacted onerous laws and rules enforcing green energy quotas that will survive any policy changes in a new administration. Distinguished climatologist Richard Lindzen (professor of atmospheric science at MIT) has written the foreword: he notes that the book, appropriately in his view, places the current concern over climate in the realm of social anthropology rather than science.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth it! A Must Read!
Reviewed in the United States on 11 February 2015
A must read for those of us who want more information on the folly of anthropogenic global climate change and the misplaced use of resources to supposedly combat this alleged problem, that is the emphasis on green energy. As suggested by Peter Metzger, " Environmentalist are enthusiastic for energy sources as long as they do not exist." Mr. Metzger goes on to suggest should green energy become competitive and wide spread and not just on roof tops of homes, but across the countryside in massive wind and solar farms along with large transmission lines to get the power to the end user, environmentalist will howl at the sight of these large farms. Look at the what happen with nuclear power. The construction of nuclear power generation could replace coal generation for electricity, but because of environmentalists opposition nuclear is unusable, although its carbon footprint is essentially zero. Lastly, read the charter on Europe and you'll understand that this so called green energy revolution has been a huge failure. Image England converting a coal generation plant to wood chips and having to import wood chips from the USA when trees are supposedly a sink for capturing CO2 from the atmosphere. Princeton researcher, Tim Searchinger calculated the burning of trees would increase CO2 emissions compared to coal by 79% over 20 years! Then there is the impact on the consumer and the creation of fuel poverty when the cost to heat your home etc... becomes a choice between other basic human needs. Look no further than Spain the poster child to self-mutilation as its electricity cost soared. President Obama used Spain as a model. The bottom line is this rush to judgment to convert to green energy when not economical will result in higher costs across the board for consumers, slowing the economy and business expansion and the opportunity to innovate in solving the problem of energy. The CO2 narrative is false and foolish. Read more on the subject and you might conclude as I have that climate change is and will continue to happen. My hope is that we don't become so comfortable with the climate we all have enjoyed to suddenly face a "flip" in the climate to colder temperatures e.g. Younger Dryas. Imagine the impact on agriculture and the production of food stuffs in feeding our population, not to mention the world who depend on USA grain production for their populations.

3.0 out of 5 stars being of great value to anyone able and willing to participate in ...

While a valuable compilation of the state of public debate over global warming/climate change, I lowered my rating as I have little confidence the book will sway any of the 'rooster' followers. I think the book would serve as a valuable reference for anyone trying to understand the history and the sincerity of the main protagonists in the climate debate, being of great value to anyone able and willing to participate in debates on the climate subject, but I'm convinced the public today are either apathetically disinterested or zealously committed.

Regrettably, I don't see this book as a game changer - the scam will go on.

5.0 out of 5 stars An Excellent Book
Reviewed in the United States on 15 December 2013
Roosters of the Apocalypse (revised) is an excellent book, the best I have seen on the cult religion called “Global Warming” or “Climate Change” or any other mind-grabbing phrase that suits the purveyors of this superstition. The first edition of this work showed dramatically how disastrous this new faith can be. The new version of Roosters strengthens the case and adds considerable information that is both timely and helpful. Documenting the insanity of political institutions and leaders—primarily in the West—who have embraced a fundamentalism of the absurd while hiding under a phony scientific cover, the book shows clearly that, when so-called scientists do not tell the truth, their “science” is worthless. Rael Jean Isaac presents extensive documentation of the disastrous economic and political consequences of embracing a fallacy. Anyone looking for support of the view that the earth is the insane asylum for the other planets will find it here. Roosters, which is not a long book, is very readable and presents a wealth of information that we ignore or deny at our peril.

5.0 out of 5 stars Roosters of the Apocalypse is a must read book!
Reviewed in the United States on 23 November 2013
This is an eye-opening read about the facts and fiction of global warming - and the responsibility of man- in global warming. The distinction itself is a fascinating topic that is dealt with in this kindle book. The author, Rael Isaac, has done a great deal of scientific research, and explains everything very clearly. The history and politics of alarmists in our and other societies is covered as are the wasted resources being spent on "green" energy around the world. Before any more wind turbines are built which destroy hundreds of thousands of birds, bats and raptors all over the world, we must become better informed and stop the alarmists from destroying our economies with their unsubstantiated nonsense.
