1) A 1 second delay from pressing any key before there was an action on the screen.
2) Glue holding the rubberised palm pad (in place) continuously seeped out from beneath & onto my hand preventing me from using the keypad.
3) E-mail ONLY Tech Support never resolved my issues.
I sent over 30 e-mails, including clear & concise pics outlining the issues, immediately after I received the keypad asking for a replacement but got nothing but more e-mails & they refused to provide a phone number. (which would have quickly & easily clarified any issues they had)
Unable to use the product & with NO Tech Support at all, I got tired of the constant go-no-where-e-mails & finally I asked for a refund.
Razor responded with promises to repair or replace the unit but even after countless requests for the forms needed to return the product, Amazon had to step in to resolve this issue & I was able to get a full refund.
Thank you Amazon
Some people may find that useless (because they have a keyboard) but I have been loving to set macros on the pad and not conflicting with my typing in any ways.
An especially handy use is for you Laptop gamers. You'll have the tactile clicky keys, and the powerful Razer Synapse software at your fingertips. Any function imaginable for the keys can be accomplished. The space key on the mouse (for your thumb) is also really great.
The original D-Pad from the Nostromo (Orbweaver's predecessor) has been swapped into an 8-way stick. Also, the Orbweaver is now adjustable in 3 different ways: Overall length, handrest tilt, and the thumb pad distance from the base. No matter the size of your hand, the Orbweaver will fit. In addition, the bottom level of keys are angled away from you, allowing for you to press them without the uncomfortable feel
My absolute only complaint, is that I wish the WASD keys on the keypad were illuminated like the numbers. That would have been preferable.
Some people may be disappointed that this device doesn't have a braided cable, but the normal cable is optimal in this case since you won't be moving it around like you would your mouse. You'll prefer it like it is. The lighting is also adjustable as it should be. I always use the lowest setting because it doesn't need to be bright at all for you to see it in daylight even. The brightest option is very.... bright. :)
Gave 4 Stars because I kind of expect braided cables on $100+ gaming gear.
Someone had mentioned why doesn't the arm rest fold in for traveling, but overall this doesn't really feel like it was made to be portable, plastic cord with a bit of extra plastic wrap around the connection to the pad so it doesn't tear (which is smart)
They keys themselves are all mechanical cherry red switches too, so a nice clack on every press. The other keys are all mechanical too, (like mouse keys), such as the dpad and 'Space bar'.
The dpad on this device will also give you an advantage. I am not great as using it for moving, but its great for swapping weapons, or binding to frequently used abilities etc. This is an advantage as the thumb typically only uses the space bar, so getting an extra 6 buttons the thumb can use is great.
I have paired this with the Naga 2014 mouse (ton of buttons) and it has made me a better player.
As with other I wish it had the braided cable that came with my DeathAdder and Blackwidow. You do need to give this device about a week of use before you should decide whether or not you like it. I hated it at first but after about a week of use it started to become more accustomed.
I find myself going back to the keyboard without realizing it just because it's easier to use and the keys are closer to where I want them. I am giving an honest effort for this keypad and I am sure that just more use will make me used to it but for now I give it 3 stars just because of how awkward it feels for me.
feels good in your hands, even with small or big hands.
the only cons i can think are the non braided cable and the way the space bar is placed, which makes it hard to hit so i recommend using the alt key for space
