Jeanne Lemlin is not only a great cook, she is a great recipe writer. This book is consistently good, from appetizers to desserts. Her desserts are especially delicious. I've made tons of recipes from this cookbook and there have only been two or three that weren't absolutely delicious. I've served many of her dishes to all sorts of people, to conservative eaters to adventurous ones, and everybody likes them. The only problem is that her recipes are fairly fattening but you can easily reduce the fat content by employing the usual tricks.
