I wanted to replace my current PC with something small that can sit on my desk and under my monitor. I initially started to think to assemble one myself but then I searched Amazon for a complete solution. I came up with the X400 from minisforum after I read some good reviews.
For a start, the construction looks solid. Windows 10 comes with the mini PC and is set in a few minutes. What impresses at first is the speed that the machine loads Windows 10. Faster than an eye blink. The mini PC has some quality h/w peripherals. RAM speed is 3200 that helps gaming, SSD is Kingston, generally it is not cheap and you can tell from the first look at the case.
Software runs extremely well. The Ryzen 5 4650G is a small beast. Productivity software runs incredibly well and although we are speaking about an APU, games run better than many low-mid range graphics cards even at 2k resolutions that my monitor supports. It is also ideal for emulators and video playback on TVs. The fan can turn a bit loud when the CPU is stressed, but overall I can say that I had PCs that had more noise. Also the PSU is external and fanless, so you have one less noise source.
Expansion-wise, it offers 4 USB that are enough for the mini PC and I installed a 2.5" SSD in just 3 minutes for extra space. Having both HDMI and DP is an excellent option since it makes my life easier when I want to use 2 monitors for my work.
Minisforum also has an excellent support for the mini PC regarding drivers and the OS for the mini PC. Also when I needed to contact them, they answered right away in a very polite manner.
This is a highly recommended mini PC. Mini only to the size, but under the hood, you get a very powerful "beast" with great quality hardware.
