From USA Today and Amazon Top 15 Bestselling Author, Bella Jewel.

In darkness, we find danger. In danger, I find Beau.

Ash is a prison guard, she's tough, she's strong and she never backs away from a fight. She takes her job seriously, she takes her training seriously, and everything in her life goes as planned.

Until the day he is brought into the prison.

She'll never forget meeting Beau 'Krypt' Dawson for the first time. He's a member of the Jokers' Wrath MC and it is said he killed an innocent family in the middle of a cafe, in cold blood.

Deranged. Crazy. Psychotic.

All those words describe the infamous Krypt, but Ash suspects there's far more to the quiet man than meets the eye. Secrets are being hidden by the club, information is being kept under wraps. Krypt is silent for a reason.

Ash is desperate to know that reason.

Continually fighting, Krypt is transferred to a high security prison. Ash is in charge. She's always prepared, always alert. Not even her skills will stop the club from ambushing them and taking back Krypt. Only Ash ends up right in the middle of it.

They take her, too.

Now she's stuck with a Motorcycle Club who are determined not to let her go. She's too much of a risk. Until the situation can be sorted, they send her and Krypt into the mountains together....alone.

The dark, sexy, handsome biker will crawl into her soul and embed himself there. Changing her life forever.

An epic, dangerous love will be built on the foundations of darkness.

First I need you to know that I'm a big Bella Jewel fan. I've read all her books and nearly each one I'll read again.

Precarious is the first of (I hope) many books that tells the story of the badass biker club the Jokers Wrath. Main character and Vice President Krypt gets in trouble with the police while shooting the man who killed his father and sister. Seeking for revenge he got a tip and found him in a cafe. But it turns out to be a set up that got him arrested in the local prison. That's when Ash, the 2nd main character comes into place. She is one of few female guards who work in that prison and is checking on Krypt during her shifts. He is a very broody but sexy as hell biker and it didn't take long for her to get fond of him.

It turns out that the rivaling biker clan tinmen which is responsible for Krypts set up is paying corrupt officers in the prison to beat Krypt and get him moved to another prison. Ash is trying to protect him as good as she can and agrees to escort the prison bus when Krypt got moved to that new high security prison. But he never made it. And that's where the wild journey of Krypt and Ash starts. It's a constant up and down mixed with a lot of dark romance and sex. There are a couple of other biker and old ladies that are part of the story in the book. One in particular I need to mention, the President of the Jokers, Maddox. He is as sexy as dangerous and I promise you'll love him a lot too. As always, Bella describes each and everything very visual so you really get an idea of what's happening.

Ashs and Krypts story is finished in Precacious, so there is no hangover (thanks for that) apart from the teaser to book #2 (Melancholy) that tells the story of Maddox and Santana.

“Precarious” is a fast-paced, sexy, hot and testosterone infused MC romance that has an unusual and original plot and at the same time delivers the things we love about and expect from MC books.

THere is the bike-riding, alpha, sinfully hot biker Krypt, that lives the unusual life that comes with being in a motorcycle club. He bends society’s rules as he pleases, not allowing anyone to mess with him or the club. And he also doesn’t allow anyone to get under his skin – that is until he ends up thrown in jail and is confronted with all the charm and magnetism that is Ash.

Ash truly is a wildcard and an unusual female character. She manages to combine traits that might normally be seen as contradictory. She is sweet and sexy, cares about others with all her hard and is full of empathy and understanding. She likes to look good and embraces her femininity. At the same time she kicks butt – literally and figuratively. She works as a prison guard and deals with dangerous men, yet she isn’t afraid of them and treats them with respect. She doesn’t mind getting her hands dirty and can put a man three times her size in his place. She speaks her mind freely and stands up for what she believes in. She isn’t shy or naive and lives her sexuality the way she wants too. Above all, she is fierce and independent.
But her independence takes a nose-dive when she is suddenly kidnapped by Krypt and his club. As if that wasn’t bad enough, she not only learns a hard truth about people she considered her friends, but also ends up in a secluded cabin with Krypt.

Both are extremely enigmatic and sensual people, so it is only a matter of time before the atmosphere sizzles and crackles with sexual tension. But they aren’t in the cabin just for the fun of it.

HASH(0x89c26a54) von 5 Sternen I was enjoying it until I got 94% in 9. August 2014

3.5 Stars

You know that feeling when you're reading a book and enjoying it and then something out of the blue is thrown in that makes your Kindle tremble in fear that it's about to go airborne? 94% is when that occurred to me and my Kindle while reading Precarious. I will explain the 94% at the end of my review.

I'm a fan of Bella Jewel's, her writing is different, it's dark, quirky and sexy. I hesitated starting Precarious because of a few reviews I had read (yes I read spoiler reviews because I cannot handle certain things that have become popular in some books).

Precarious is a fast paced read. Ash and Krypt do not have an instant love, but they quickly realize there is something between them, something they have never felt before. Their chemistry is hot.

Ash she is a tough prison guard. She loves her job and is instantly drawn to sexy Krypt when he is brought in for murder. Which confuses her because she has never been attracted to an inmate before. I LOVED the fact that Ash was tough and she was very confident in her sexual desires. I was ecstatic that in Ash we got the rare ALPHA female who isn't naïve, timid, who is tough but still feminine and compassionate and who doesn't bow down to the big bad bikers. She gives as good as she gets. Which is why what happens at 94% pisses me off. Krypt is guarded, a badass and he won't talk about the murder he has been accused of. The male prison guards seem to have it out for him and Ash realizes it so she keeps her eyes and ears open to try to see what's going. Ash is told Krypt is being transported to another prison because he got into a fight and she is to accompany him on the transport. They are ambushed and Ash ends up on the run with Krypt. This leads to the discovery of all is not what it seems and Ash's life is in danger and suddenly the inmate becomes the protector.

Precarious is a sexy MC romance and I think fans of MC romances will enjoy it. I enjoyed it up to 94% then I hated that one scenario. I'm going to have to play mind games with myself and insert different players in the ménage so I can get my love back for the characters before I read the next book. And YES I will read the next book because I do enjoy Ms. Jewel's writing.

94% - At 94% a ménage happens. I was totally turned off by it. I didn't even find the scene sexy and I am a fan of ménages. But not when the ménage isn't organic to the plot and this one was not. (Rhayne I used that word just for you). Even if it would've happened earlier in the book, before the I love yous were exchanged I don't feel it fit the dynamic between Ash and Krypt. I understand that the ménage was most likely meant to be the catalyst for what happens next which sets up the next couple for the next book. But there were other ways of making that happen. This ménage hurts a friend of Ash's and Ash is made to look stupid by saying she didn't realize it would hurt her friend. It just DID NOT FIT Ash's character at all, Ash is smart and part of her job as a prison guard is reading people, so there is no way in hell she could've missed the clues that her friend was giving off about this other character throughout the book. As a matter of fact the ménage took me from loving Ash's character to not liking her and I don't think there is any way to redeem her in my mind.

2.5 stars.

I liked this book, but unfortunately there were two BIG problems that I can't get past: Ash and the ending.

I read this in one sitting, which says something for Bella Jewel's writing style. I'm a fan of some of her other MCs books, which is why I was excited for Precarious. However, I couldn't respect Ash. At all. In the beginning, I did, because she seemed like a strong woman who could hold her own, but who also had a soft side. But once she gets involved in club life, she becomes almost unrecognizable. She physically fought with a few members of the club just for s*** and giggles. If that's her thing, then power to her, but after a while it just got old. I mean, if I had a dollar for every ball grab she performed...yeah.

Also, she was a bit of a pushover for such a 'strong woman.' Some of the s*** that Beau pulled never really got dealt with. But she always went back to him. It's hard for me to like a character like that. He walked all over her (ie with the club whore and the whole Penny situation) and because she's such a 'strong woman,' she punished him...with sex. Okay? So, if he wants to get laid, he can just hurt her and make her angry? In what world does this make sense?

And then there's the ending. Threesomes aren't really my thing. Even though the scene between Maddox, Krypt, and Ash was erotic, it ruined the romance for me. Completely. The reasoning behind it was so warped (basically, Krypt was okay with it because she wasn't 'officially' his old lady But hey, it's some people's kink, just not mine. But I think it's weird that Ash was so concerned with being seen as the club whore, yet she has sex with the club president and the VP at once, especially knowing that there's a history between Santana and Maddox (despite what she says in the end). Hmmm...

So, while I enjoyed the beginning and some truly hot sex scenes, this felt more like erotica to me than romance. I'm disappointed since I've truly enjoyed previous Bella Jewel novels but I don't think I'll be picking up the next one in this series.

HASH(0x89755978) von 5 Sternen The wait is over for the first book in Bella Jewel's new MC series: Krypt & Ash 7. August 2014
Von Amazon Customer - Veröffentlicht auf

Precarious (Jokers' Wrath MC Book 1) And Bella did not hold back on the Steamy storyline. For those who have read her other MC series you will not be disappointed!
At first the impression is that Ash is this sassy, strong, independent, yet feminine corrections officer, and Krypt (aka Beau) as a raw, arousing take charge "mine" Alpha member of Joker's Wrath biker club. She does not hold back on showing sides of both the protagonists, Krypt's take charge, no apologies, biker club lifestyle & Ash's inner battle to maintain her independence, while (I think) craving all that Krypt was "laying down".

When the both finally submit to each other and the banter they had before, during, and after you I thought, she will fight herself not to give in to what he wants, and it will be a journey with (hopefully the ending being them together).
Krypt: "I like it rough, darlin'." Ash: "Don't they all," I mewl, sliding my hands under his shirt and feeling the hard, yet silky smoothness of his skin against my palms. Can you say, damn, expect some scorching hotness throughout this book! As the story unfolds, Bella weaves in secondary characters that I hope we see more of, like the "shy, whore" that Tyke is kind to and you could sense that she has a story and I hope we find out more.

The only reason I didn't give this a five star is I though the ménage wouldn't really happen because after Ash started spending time with Santana and she even suspected feelings is/was/could be there and she was shocked by her reaction when the "reveal" in the kitchen happened.

You will not be disappointed, no cliffhanger for Ash & Krypt and the way she leaves us the teaser for Santana & Biker Prez Maddox's story is just WOW....I was not guessing that was his secret, is it September 15, 2014 yet?

HASH(0x89756954) von 5 Sternen Good story-line, but that's about it!! **SPOILERS* 20. Oktober 2014
Von Tara C. - Veröffentlicht auf
Format: Kindle Edition
This wasn't a great read, I've definitely read better MC books or books period. It had a good story-line, BUT there were many things that didn't fit the bill for me. Ash - at the beginning, I liked her, she is this strong, independent, badass smart girl, then she meets Krypt; she turns into some clingy, jealous, softie. Her character just went downhill. Then she goes around wanting to fight everyone, and hitting the men in the nuts constantly. UGH! Immature. Not something I would expect from her character from the way she is in the beginning of the book. Especially since she had a huge problem with Tristen and the other guys beating Krypt while in prison. She allows Krypt to walk all over her, then Penny arrives and things get even worse for me. During sex with Ash, when Penny knocks on the door, he's ready to drop her right then and there to go eat dinner with Penny, but instead she continues to please him. Seriously?! Oh and of course her feelings are hurt, BUT she flocks right to him once again. Then he's cuddled up on the couch with Penny and even though Ash is hurt she goes off and has sex with him. Or when she walks into his room and he's on the bed getting a strip dance from another woman - and once again she's hurt, but rewards him with sex. Pathetic!! The physical fight during sex, had me rolling my eyes and wanting to delete the book from my kindle. Also, in the beginning he asks if she's clean and protected and she says yes ... she's being held captive, is he providing her with the pill? Or did she conveniently have them in her pocket when she was taken? I didn't feel their chemistry, at all and there are too many things missing in this book.

Ash is constantly getting upset and running to the woods to cry. Once again not the same character she's portrayed at the beginning. Then she doesn't want to feel or look like a wh*re, but she plays "strip" pool, offering to take her shirt off if she loses or get naked........AND.....

The ending! Once again, from they way the author built Ash's character in the beginning there is no way in HE** Ash would have a 3-some with Maddox. She connected with Santana, she became friends with her, and she knows how Santana feels about him, Ash thinks it several times during the moments her and Santana have with each other AND even if she didn't hint at it during the book... once again she knows how to read people - so I don't see it happening.

In the end I ended up hating Ash and her whole character!

HASH(0x89756e1c) von 5 Sternen Do A Little Research!!! 18. September 2015
Von M. Stork - Veröffentlicht auf

I normally don't review books that I don't finish but the reason I didn't finish is important. I actually only got into the first chapter. Its important to state I am a female correction officer, so I know what I'm talking about. #1 - The author doesn't know the difference between a Prison, Jail and Holding facility. First thing the author is has a Prison taking in newly arrested inmate. Prisons house sentenced inmates. Un-sentenced inmates are kept in jails or holding centers. It makes a Big Difference.
#2 - Author states the prison isn't a maximum security prison (never states what level it actually is) but has a maximum floor. ***With men in cells cuffed and chained to the wall!!!! What???!!! That would be treating them like animals!!!
If the author can't get these 2 huge facts right at the very beginning I won't be reading anymore of this nonsense.
