I always thought inside the box with inks. What would I do with ink? I don't do calligraphy or have fancy pens I'm going to redip. I only had a feather pen once, and I was annoyed more than I felt fancy. However these are things I've been doing with the inks in small amounts.
Using as paint. Archival water color! Yes.
Adding bits of extra color to paper crafts. I've splotched in circles (dries fast). (No bleed through on card stock btw. Big dollops hold shape and dry.
Art journal. Gesso and ink. So pretty.
Canvas and mixed media.
If you're a budding or very advanced artist on a budget but you want awesome quality ink, this is your test kit. You get way more than you pay for.
Very grateful for product's existence and will buy again. Wish they had the sparkly irredecent inks Liquitex has, because those are damn expensive. Maybe I need to buy mica powder and add?
I have several different types of watercolors from Dr. Ph. Martin that are over 30 years old, and just as beautiful as the day I got them. I used to use them to hand color black and white photographs, back in the day when I had a black and white darkroom in my spare bathroom. I still use them, just for different things.
This is my first batch of their India Inks. I enjoy drawing and writing with both dip pens and fountain pens, and wanted a set of water resistant inks. These are beautiful, fast drying, brilliant and permanent.
How I use these inks in my fountain pens.
These can be used in fountain pens, but I do not recommend leaving any permanent ink sitting in a fountain pen. This ink does not seem to clog my fountain pens, but it does dry quickly, and even capped will dry on your nib, which will mean you have to clean it. If I'm still using the same color, I can just push of pull ink through the nib with my piston if it sits to long. HOWEVER, I always empty the ink from my pen and clean it when I'm done for the time. I also don't use these inks in any expensive fountain pens.
Please remember this is what I do with these inks in my fountain pens. What you do is up to you, and you should research and test to your own satisfaction.
I'm an illustrator and I work mainly with watercolors and inks. I've tried many inks and this is by far the best!
If you don't have the money to buy both sets, set #1 will do specially because it contains white and black inks.
I've seen this being sold separately in craft stores and they are way more expensive that way.
This inks are waterproof and won't bleed once they are dry even if you add water, which is great if you want to do a lineart with them but paint with watercolors. They're shiny once they dry and have the most beautiful and intense pigment I've used.
I highly recommend them, also the color is so intense that usually you just need a drop or top for very large areas, so this ink will last a lot of time.
