This is the perfect e-cookbook to send off to school with your college-bound vegetarian. The recipes are short, quick, and many rely on cheap, easily accessible regular grocery store items like instant mashed potatoes (used in clever ways, not just as mashed potatoes)... Ideal for folks cooking for one.

There's nothing wrong with the recipes, but none are all that great. Fortunately it was a freebie, so I certainly wasn't out anything for trying it.

When looking for a cookbook that I want to keep, I look for several things. Does the book describe the types of ingredients that are being used? Are the amounts and directions specific? Are there any personal anecdotes about the recipes being shown? Are there pictures to show me how it should look? Does the recipe give a preparation time? Is the layout of the recipe easy to follow and preferably on one page. For the kindle there is an additional thing I look for. Is there a clickable table of contents? None of these are deal breakers. However, the more of the above questions that are answered in yes , the better chance of me purchasing it.

1. This book does not give number of servings nor cooking time.
2. There are no illustrations, beyond the cover.
3. While the author does give tips on cost savings, she does not talk about her ingredients. And for a mains vegetarian cookbook, discussing how to get the best vegetables would have been in order.
4. As to the vegetarian aspects of this book, in a couple of places she adds an optional use of imitation bacon bits. FYI eggs are included in a couple of the recipes.
5. Several of the "quick" recipes use prepared items such as soup mixes, instant potatoes, instant rice.
6 Speaking of rice, several recipes call for using rice either regular or instant. In the recipe it doesn't say whether the amount is cooked or uncooked. Looking at the recipes I would assume she meant cooked.
7. As for the prepared items she does not mention amounts. She either says one small package of instant potatoes, one small can of broth, or one small box of cornbread mix.
8. She uses a dutch oven for a stir fry. That just doesn't make sense to me.

If you have access to western grocery stores which carries things such as instant mashed potatoes, instant rice, refrigerator biscuits, or if you want a couple of simple last minute vegetarian items this might be OK
However, if you want a true vegetarian experience with fresh items and sensible instructions. Look elsewhere.

I do NOT recommend this book.
