Maybe it's not "literature.." as some of the others have said, but it doesn't have to be to make good reading. I think it's simple, easy to read, easy to keep up with, and it has definately held my my attention.
I'm a born-again Christian who has had many questions about end times, and I feel Nicolae comes very close to describing the type of person he will be. The ongoing change in his personality is just as the devil would be. He comes "as an angel of light" at first, and then once he has you wants to destroy and kill you!
These books have heated up the "evangelistic side" of my nature and I'm glad Kimberly, a friend in Esther, suggested these books to me. I'm looking forward to the rest of the series and am planning on promoting these books from my website.
Keep it up and by the way, I've been praying this becomes a hit movie for you as well!!
The writing was trite, the characters are one-dimensional, and it's just not as exciting. We have Rayford and Buck being disrespectful to Nicolae, yet Nicolae decides to not get rid of them, knowing they are with the enemy? I mean, if you're spying, ACT LIKE THE ENEMY! Ray and Buck wouldn't even do little courtesies like say thanks or act deferential or apologize to Nicolae, while everyone else does, and they think that no one can figure them out? puhleeeze... Nicolae even reveals his knowledge of their association to them, intentionally, without any reason to do so.
The authors also pull out too many deus-ex-machinas. It takes 20 years for an airplane to be designed and built. Earl Halliday, a mere pilot, couldn't have done it. Just because you're a pilot doesn't make you an aerodynamics expert. Not only that, Nicolae decides to kill Earl after the plane was designed? noooo, I think that if a new (experimental?) plane was designed, you'd better keep the engineer who designed it around to maintain it (since no one else would know how!). The Internet being completely anonymous from Nicolae? Doubtful. Although it may be anonymous to the average user, if someone had the power to (e.g. Nicolae), he could definitely track down where send their video feeds from (this is in relation to the Rabbi preaching over the Internet). Same thing with cellular phones being untraceable. Nothing is untraceable. Especially in a controlled world that Nicolae has. One can say that God has provided in the background, but this goes too far.Lesen Sie weiter... ›
Clearly this series falls in the latter category. I hope and pray that all the fans of this series, which of course are legion, are not simply gleefully and passively awaiting God's judgment on unbelievers but rather are spurred on to Christian discipleship, obedience and evangelism in the present. Is passing around copies of these books the way to do that? I'm not sure, since it seems like LaHaye and Jenkins are primarily preaching to the choir. Christians need to think carefully about how best to present the good news of Jesus to the world in today's present setting, not some speculative future-tense scenario.

I wrote a poor review of Left Behind, the 1st book, because it had lousy characters, poor descriptions of events, and highly dubious interpretations of the Bible. Lesen Sie weiter...Am 19. September 2000 veröffentlicht
I just can't take it anymore. The "Left Behind" series has cranked out three miserable novels, and that's three miserable novels too many. Lesen Sie weiter...Am 14. Juli 2000 veröffentlicht
The authors clearly have ulterior motives in this series, and noble as they may be, the story lapses into ridiculous plot devices. Lesen Sie weiter...Am 30. Juni 2000 veröffentlicht
I've read all but "The Indwelling", which I'll read this summer, so I've decided to review the series. Lesen Sie weiter...Veröffentlicht am 28. Juni 2000 von Enrique Torres
I loved Left Behind, thought Tribulation Force was really good. This book though spends to much time explaining what already happened. Lesen Sie weiter...Veröffentlicht am 26. Juni 2000 von PennedDragon
While I thought the second book went sort of slow, this one brings the fast-paced action back. I was very impressed and cannot wait to read the fourth book.Veröffentlicht am 25. Juni 2000 von Jason Russell
I've just finished the third installment of this series, and must admit that the writing had improved. Lesen Sie weiter...Am 22. Juni 2000 veröffentlicht
