Pluses:
1) It looks like a very rigid, rugged and durable bag. Will probably withstand a lot of abuse for those that travel through rugged terrain and have their luggage exposed to a lot of abuse.
2) It's not a huge bag, but it's big enough to fit in what one needs for a week of traveling.
3) Zippers and straps all look to be decent quality - big, solid.
4) Side pockets are big enough for a pair of men's shoes (not boots though).
Minuses:
1) Materials are very hard and very rigid to the point of being unpleasant and uncomfortable. The bag came in a mesh pouch - even taking it out and unpacking it was ridiculously difficult. Bag would not stay in shape and kept collapsing into its folded state even after I had straightened it out from the inside.
2) The red parts are made of some kind of plastic material. It's likely for waterproofing; but it felt like cheap vinyl.
3) I found this bag design really awkward. The two shoulder straps kinda get in the way when you open the main flap. They tried to make it as an interchangeable duffel bag / backpack. I doubt it would be very comfortable as a backpack, because the vinyl side would be on your back. And the straps should not work well as shoulder straps on a duffel
4) Inside - despite all this outer ruggedness, there is no rigid bottom. It's just fabric all around. Makes it even more difficult to pack.
5) It's heavy. Almost 2kg (4lbs).
Overall, this is perhaps a good bag for mountain climbers whose primary concern is durability in harsh conditions. I was only looking for a normal high-quality travel duffel bag and this one is definitely an overkill for that purpose.
Upon opening of the box and package, it looked like someone had already returned it. I decided to return it too. Will look for something lighter and more flexible.
