Danielle Moriarty Summary Group 67 I read the book Matilda. This book is about a girl named Matilda and her parents that treat her like a little brat, but she's not. Ever science Matilda was born she was ignored by her parents. The one thing that her parents didn't know is that Matilda is a very smart girl. Her mother was too busy playing bingo and her father was busy selling faulty cars. Matilda also had a brother Mickey. He never really liked Matilda. He always thought that he was better than Matilda because he go to go to school and Matilda didn't. Then one day it all happened Matilda's father, Harry, let her go to school. He made the arrangement when he sold a car faulty car. He sold the car to Miss Agetha Trunchball the principal of Crunchem Hall. There is only one problem Miss Tunchbull hates children. Now I know what your thinking why would someone who hates children would want to be the principal of a school that has children in it. Well every day Miss Trunchbull picks a class that she will be teaching for the day. One day she just happened to pick the class that Matilda is in. Miss Trunchbull is a very strict woman and she doesn't have much patience. While she is teaching she gets very mad at Matilda. At the same time she Matilda is getting pretty mad at Miss Truncbulland discovered that she has magic powers. To figure what Matilda does to everyone that has been mean to her, you have to read the book and find out.

Matilda is one of those girls you'd only find in story books. By the age of seven she is doing multiplication sums that even I would find hard! Her parents dont treat her well and she has to smuggle library books into the house while they are at work. She plays all sorts of ridiculous tricks on them like pouring super-glue into her fathers hat, which is really funny. One day she had to go to school and there she met Miss Trunchable, she is really horrible and everyone is scared of her.Matilda's form teacher is called Miss Honey and she is really kind and timid, she is absolutely astounded at Matilda's educational ability and a sound freindship is made at once. The story goes on and you are embedded deeper into it's magical charm. Miss Honey's parets died when she was small and Miss honey used to live with miss Trunchable, and she left her doll there so Matilda summons her newly found magical powers and retrieves it for her. After a greater bond, still is made Miss Honey agrees to adopt Matilda so that they may live a live of happiness and freindship together. I couldn't put the book down I was so entranced!

The book Matilda, by Ronald Dahl, was an outstanding book that really knows how to get a readers attention. The author is writing from Matilda's point of view. Which focuses the readers attention on Matilda's family problems. The book shows how Matilda Woodworm, the born genious, finds out she has to learn how to survive on her own. The abnormal behavior in her family made it hard for Matilda to experience a normal childhood. The book shows her interaction with her abnormal brother, fanatic mother and cheapskate father, making it very entertaining and amusing. The comedy of this novel helps people of all ages realize that no matter what, every family has its problems. It all depends on the way you react to them and the way you deal with them. Matilda realizes by taking things into her own hands, it helps her deal with her problems better. I'd highly recommend this book to readers of all ages, because it's written by a great author, and can provide some reading enjoyment.

I first read this book when I was in the fourth grade. Now, almost ten years later, it is still one of my favorite books. Since then, I have recommended it to many family members, friends, and to people who are just looking for a fun, quick, cute book to read. Matilda's courage proves to youngsters that there are no limitations because of age or size. Matilda is a noble, innocent heroine that I encourage all young children to follow. Roald Dahl is a fluid writer who will keep the pages turning.

Matilda is the story of a super geius who is misunder stood

sells junk cars made with stolen car parts. When Matilda
goes to school, her principal is also a terrible person. Her
teacher, Ms. Honey, is understanding and kind. Ms. Honey
becomes Matilda's friend. Matilda has powers, and decides they
are perfect for revenge! A funny, serious, and downright
excellent book. Roald Dahl's best yet!
