Über den Autor und weitere Mitwirkende
Born and raised in the Charleston, WV area, this young single father started writing when unimaginable circumstances thrust him into a situation beyond his control. As a way to stay connected to his beloved daughters, he began writing stories to entertain them - first a fantastical, magical adventure, the Edge of Knight series. What started as entertainment for his daughters evolved into a coping mechanism to maintain his sanity as he waged a monumental battle against injustice. The battle continues, and as his daughters have grown into teenagers, the stories have changed to more mature fiction. J. C. Allen is a pseudonym, represented by the author's middle name, his younger daughter's middle initial, and his favorite niece's initial. Both girls have been instrumental in bringing his books to the public. We hope you’ll enjoy the results.
So, if you were hunting for the people who were trying to replace your government, knowing that they had weapons and armed forces they had stolen from your country... knowing they could control everything from the TV to mobile phone communications, would you STILL sign up??
M.O.D. is a terrorist element, intent on the overthrow of the US government... or are they?
In their hunt for the leader of the group, two FBI agents have to face that question. For one, Scott, the answer is simple and he joins up. For his partner Sheelia, she has a duty to her country, and she wants M.O.D. stopped.
Co-authors Allen and Hicks have really hit the mark here with an excellent story that will challenge the reader to root for the bad guys, or was that the good guys? *sigh*
There is solid writing and excellent conceptual work throughout the book and although others have highlighted that there were too many things in the content that were `impossible', you really do have to consider how far we could have advanced in science, technology and medical achievements, if human research was unlimited in funding and resources... THEN ask yourself, just how impossible is it?
Admittedly, there are elements of this work that revolve solely around the internet and hacking of systems, which although some may find it cumbersome reading, again you have to consider it a crucial method of control in the modern web-based world, where so many rely on the internet for their information, entertainment and even social interaction... After all, you're reading this review, aren't you? ...Lesen Sie weiter... ›

I enjoyed the pace and the characters of this story. I have no idea how much of the computer-techy stuff is feasible but the story carried me along. It was a great read.
I started reading this book 3 days ago and I found myself unable to put it down until it was finished. The author does an amazing job of transporting you to the center of this conflict and keeping you on the edge of your seat until the conclusion. A very fast paced and engaging thriller that I highly recommend !
The best hackers in the world are in a fight to the death. The opposing group of our current lifestyle, want to start over in the country..... writing new laws and electing new leaders for our society. So the question is.....Who ARE the good guys, and who ARE the bad guys?
I would suggest the book to anyone who enjoys a great suspense/thriller novel, with a futuristic twist. Author J.C.Allen writes extremely well, creating a totally believable story. The strong men and women characters are intense, passionate individuals, for whom fighting to the death might be the only option to save the world as we know it. When current politics, military forces from several countries, and high level technology collide, the end result is terrifying. The book is written so well, the story is so strong, and the author describes the details so well, it could be made into an excellent Hollywood blockbuster, right now.
Enjoy the wild ride!
Whose side will you be on?
This book is not just hi-tech, it's on the cutting edge, as FBI agent Sheelia Tanner, and pretty much the entire government, pursue M.O.D and his people, who are intent on toppling the government and dedicated to giving the country back to the people.
Young FBI agent Scott Carver joins the M.O.D. endeavor when he comes to realize that it's a noble cause which harks back to the founding father's vision of what the U.S.A. should be, politically and socially, sans corruption and greedy politicians and businessmen.
Try as they might, the government cannot get to first base in locating the hiding place of some pretty heavy stolen military machinery, and tracing M.O.D himself.
The plot twists nicely when the government employs a former rival and enemy of M.O.D who has some tricks up his own sleeve.
Author J.C. Allen is at ease at the helm, while he navigates the intriguing innards of technology. If you are engrossed by the cogs and wheels of hi-tech machinery, then he will engage you in this intelligently written and smoothly executed novel.
The characters are contemporary and sophisticated. The dialogue is breezy and believable.
I found the premise a bit preachy on the current ills of our political and social systems. But that's just the premise, and not the thrust of the novel.
I'm giving M.O.D. four stars. While hi-tech stories are not my meat, I can see how it is an intriguing read for those who enjoy this type of story.
