I ordered this and The Dragon Prince Artbook and they were packaged so badly 😂 just a little bit of air bags on the top and thats all, the box was starting to get crushed too lol LUCKILY, both book somehow survived the journey and came in mint condition and they are SO good. They show not only the final designs used in the game/show, but they also show early concepts and rough designs as well. It's a must have for any artist wanting to work in concept design and a must have for any fan 😊

Was soll ich sagen? Wer auf der Switch/der Wii U "The legend of Zelda-Breath of the wild" gespielt hat und sich(so wie ich) in die Zelda-Reihe verliebt hat, der muss sich dieses Artbook besorgen. Es bietet wunderschöne Artworks aus dem Entwicklungsprozess des Spiels und liefert zudem wirklich interessante Hintergrundinformationen. Man sollte sich lediglich darüber bewusst sein, dass das gesamte Buch in der englischen Frage daherkommt. Somit solltet ihr, wenn ihr mit diesem Buch liebäugelt, über Englisch-Kenntnissen der sechsten Klasse verfügen. Zu guter Letzt sei noch der gute Rat gegeben, dass dieses Buch gut 400 Seiten umfasst, weshalb es neben seinem Inhalt auch gut als Korrektur eines zu kurzen Tisch eins oder aber als kugelsichere Unterlage zu gebrauchen ist. Von mir also eine klare Kaufempfehlung für alle Zeldafans da draußen.

400 Seiten voller schöner Bilder und gut verfassten und interessanten Beiträgen und Entwicklerkommentaren. Neben reinem Artwork auf den ersten 50 Seiten wird im Buch auch auf die Geschichte eingegangen und auf gut 300 nachfolgenden Seiten werden alle Details wie Items Orte und Kreaturen anschaulich und schön gestaltet gezeigt und beschrieben.

In vergleich zu anderen Artbooks ist dies wirklich mit abstand das Beste das ich bisher gesehen habe und das zu diesem niedrigen Preis.

I preorderd this a while ago because the game is just beautiful, but I never expected this beast of a book! the price is normal for these kind of books if they have about 100-150 nicely printed pages, but this is not only huge with over 400 pages, but information-packed to the point where there's tiny text explaining just about every last choice they made as well as background info about the world of the game, and the print and paper quality is on par with that!
The book is both a reference encyclopedia about BoTW's extensive world and its inhabitants with final illustrations, as well as info about the visual design choices they made and a ton of sketches which I always love in art books.
an amazing must-have for fans!

I was expecting an art book and what I got was an art book as well as an exhaustive guide to the background lore, setting and world-building of Breath of the Wild. This book is filled with the most minute of details regarding countless small things the developers had in mind when designing the world of BotW. If you are one to enjoy in-depth information on fantasy settings, this book is for you.

Here is just a small handful of things you can find in this book:

-some characterization of Link, the silent protagonist
-explanations of every settlement's unique architecture
-information behind every ruined building you can find out there in the wild
-an exact account of the Great Calamity, including battle plans and maps

Ordered this as a Christmas present for my nephew based on the reviews (he's slways waxing endlessly lyrical about how beautiful the game is).
I was very disappointed in the battered book I received and just hope he isn't disappointed to receive a book in this condition.
Too close to Christmas for Amazon to offer a replacement in the condition I expected. Lovely looking book but this was marred by either poor storage at the Amazon warehouse, or was shipped to Amazon by the publishers/printers in a sub-standard state.

After the rather confusing Hyrule Historia, the obsessive Art & Artifacts and their comprehensive Encyclopedia, Dark Horse have nothing to prove in their books about the Zelda universe: all three are lovingly produced and offer fans superb value for money. Now we get, at last, a volume that covers Breath Of The Wild and it just might be the best of the bunch.

I can't imagine anyone with an interest in videogames not being enthralled with this book. Not only is the concept art beautiful and laid out (for the most part) intelligently, but we get copious notes from the developers and designers. Frankly, all the detail is (as usual) overwhelming and I'm not sure that many owners will end up reading everything or poring over the detail with the attention that it deserves. Instead, most of us will end up dipping in and reading a little at a time.

Even if you already own the Expanded Edition of the Official Guide to the game it is well worth getting this as well. In the expensive world of gaming merchandise and memorabilia, this is quite a bargain and something that will last for years.

Absolutely stunning book. Almost 500 pages worth, and very heavy. The paper is thick and excellent quality, making the images look clear and vibrant with colour.
There is so much information, and background to the creation and development of many of the characters, items, and areas. You see much more of the development and artwork that went into the franchise and BOTW specifically. I’d personally say the book is worth more than I paid for it. You also get an insight into the developers thoughts with the developers “notes” regularly scattered throughout. Absolutely stunning and I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase a book like such for a sequel or further Zelda game in future.

The book arrives as advertised and is wonderful for fans of Zelda and BOTW in particular. However, my book arrived completely soaked through in the bottom right-hand corner. This was not a fault of delivery, as the Amazon cardboard envelope was completely dry, but the wetness was inside the protective plastic film on the book. In addition to this, the book was also covered in clumps of a mysterious salt-like substance. All I can presume is the area of the warehouse these books were stored was also nearby some cosmetic items that managed to penetrate the plastic covering?

Unfortunately I cannot currently see an option to request a replacement or refund (and I don’t think the seller would really want an item of this condition returned). But if the seller sees this review and could contact me, I would be grateful.
