Kurzbeschreibung

WILL SHE, OR WON'T SHE...

Studious and sensible, the only thing Molly Wakefield wants to do is get through Senior Year and graduate. That, and hit the beach in her spare time. Maybe even read a book or two.

And things are going great -- until the day she catches Weston McGrath, handsome star athlete and scholar, spying on her in study hall.

A tad creepy? Maybe.
Thrilling? Absolutely.

Why? Because Weston McGrath is one guy no one can get close to.

Despite her best efforts to avoid him, Molly and Weston form an unlikely friendship.

But it's a friendship that comes with a price - because Weston cannot seem to stop screwing up.
Saying and doing all the wrong things. And who has time for an 18 year old "fixer-upper" that should know better?

Not Molly.

This novel, along with all others in this series, is a standalone with no cliffhanger. You're welcome.
Note: This YA book is intended for 17+ due to the vulgar language used by its male characters (and occasionally the females as well, even though they're too lady like to do it throughout the entire book). Some adult sexual situations that steam up a few car windows. This title is approx. 63,000 words.

Format: Kindle Edition
Kissing in Cars was a fun read. It is definitely young adult as the characters really feel like they are in high school which was great.

Molly is a good girl. She studies, she has a great bff, and she just needs to get through this last year before she graduates and goes off to college. No problem.

Weston is a star hockey player in their town and all the girls throw themselves at him. Not that he has time for them. He is focused on hockey and making it to the big leagues. He can't let himself be distracted by things like girlfriends.

When Molly see Weston staring at her one day in study hall things start to change. She never thought she would go for the bad boy, but there is just something about Weston that draws Molly in. He never wanted a girlfriend, but Molly is starting to change that. How has he not noticed her before? How have they not talked prior to now?

This story was really cute. Weston doesn't know how to date as he never has before and Molly doesn't have the most experience either as most of the guys in her school are jerks. But together can they figure this out and make it work? There are a lot of missteps along the way, but these two were so cute together! This was a really fun read. I can't wait to read the next book and find out what happens with Molly's jerk older brother!

OMG ".

3.0 von 5 Sternen Would Of Been 4 Stars But.... 9. Juni 2014
Von Book Nerd - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com

This book really should of been a four star book however the editing issues were tooooooo frequent and missing words makes it that much harder to read a book. But aside from the editing issues this book was a nice read and I really enjoyed it! This was such a cute story about teenaged love without all the raunchy sex to make the storyline believable. Now don't get me wrong I love the raunch and this book had its steamy moments (literally) and made it that much more enjoyable. I liked Molly I really did she was more realistic than most teen female characters I've read about in books. I LOVED the fact that though she was "innocent" she wasn't a virgin! I can't tell you how tired I am of reading stories about virgins. You know the ones who fall in love with the bad boy looses virginity and falls to pieces when the break up happens( the expected break up element that happens in all romance books). However this book didn't use its the breakup formula as its "down" moment for the characters. I liked Weston too however his portions did come off as if he was a chick and not a male but the author knew that because she had Weston saying as much. I didn't like Molly's best friend Jenna she was annoying and I could've did without her in the book. Molly and Weston's friendship was a cute one I loved how Molly wasn't the sappy chick who cried all the time about ish that hurt her feelings. I love how she called Weston on his ish and made him mature throughout the duration of this book. In my overall opinion this book is worth the money and time it took to read and buy I think you'll really enjoy it.

3.0 von 5 Sternen Cute young love story...could have been great though! 20. April 2014
Von NAC - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verifizierter Kauf
The characters and premise of this young love story were really good. Molly is a strong, independent and smart young woman who doesn't 'need' a boyfriend but of course, would like to find a special someone. Weston, is a star hockey player with high hopes for a college and pro career and he is known as a bad boy womanizer. The story begins with Molly in study hall realizing that Weston is checking her out. From there, the romance story develops and I while you can see the romance developing between them, I was still intrigued to see how it would all work out since they really are both good strong characters. It all takes place during their senior year in high school.

This could have been such a great story! Both Molly and Weston are great characters and their family dynamics are good as well. Molly's brother is a college hockey player and well known and her cousin is in the NFL. Weston's parents are totally focused on him becoming a college/pro player and his father is really intense about him not having any distractions, including Molly. He is downright rude to her when they first meet her. So, when the story ends and then goes into an epilogue one year later, I was so disappointed. There was so much more that could have been told in their story! You go from Molly and Weston deciding to be an offical couple to on year later and for me, there were so many questions and scenarios that I felt could have been part of their story and made this book a great fun young romance. I felt like this book simply skimmed the surface...and this is an instance where I would have liked to see a second book....even though I am not a fan of cliffhangers by any means. I just feel so strongly that there was more to their story.

Overall, if you like young romance with not much angst and it's pretty "clean" but lots of suggestive languange, then I think you would like this book.

4.0 von 5 Sternen Great writing-- but...... 12. Oktober 2016

I am really enjoying this author right now. She makes me laugh. I love her quotes to start her chapters. Seriously, her main characters were absolutely fabulous. The internal dialogue is what makes her books so good.

Now for the bad- there were a LOT of typos. Especially in the first chapter. It was so bad, that I actually started wondering if Amazon doesn't update editing in samples. I had gotten a sample to try out of the first bit and the typos almost made me not buy it, but when I got the book and went into the third chapter, the typos were less and less. It was weird.

The only other bad was the length of the book. I read this in two hours or less. If the writing hadn't been so good- I would have been pissed.

Try this author. She is funny. It is fun and refreshing to read a book while smiling.

4.0 von 5 Sternen Just what you need!! 25. Februar 2014

Normally, I have to say I am usually a mainstream reader, but I was on one of my sorority groups on Facebook looking through posts and came across that a alumni from Wisconsin had written and self published a book.

The reason I do not read many of the free kindle books or even the $1 or $2 self-published books is I have tried quite a few and felt dissatisfied at the end.

But not with Kissing in Cars by Sara Hassinger Ney. I could feel the tension, the excitement, and the sadness that these characters felt throughout the novel. It was a quick YA read (a little more mature in the fact that it has cussing and loads of sex talk) and I read it in like four hours.
Basic premise is there is this girl Molly who has noticed attention coming from the captain of the hockey team, Weston. And boy can I picture how beautiful and chiseled Weston is! However, problem is that Weston is not the boyfriend type. And really who wants to get into a relationship when graduation is right around the corner?

The really only thing that made me confused and just annoyed a bit was the fact that in private and in Molly’s head that she felt she was beautiful and a bit cocky about it, but in public she was a bit shy and reserved. Minor thing to harp on.

Loved the title too. It takes me back to the scene where…well they were kissing in car, but you would just have to read it to understand it.

Another thing that I would like to also mention is that Sara had another sorority sister to do the cover art which I think it is great because she is generating business for herself as well as her friends.

If you would like a quick romantic read that makes you want to go find a misunderstood hockey player, then pick up this book.

The first word that comes to mind to describe this book is adorable!! The story, the characters and even the cover are all absolutely adorable!! It was a great feel-good story about a teenage relationship that was very realistic and not overly agnsty, (which is typical of YA books).

I enjoyed getting into the heads of the two main characters with their alternating point of views. The main female character, Molly wasn't a "damsel in distress" type. She was confident (most of the time) and knew what and who she wanted, all the while being a typical teenage girl. Weston, the main male character was VERY confident, maybe too confident at times. Well, he is a teenage boy who is very attractive (of course!) and the high school hockey star. It's hard not to be. But he was also very sweet and made me swoon quite often!! How come boys weren't like that in my high school, college, or even post college??? Oh right, that's why it's called fiction. ;)

I loved the funny, quirky quotes at the beginning of each chapter that related to one of the characters. One of my favorites was:

"Sometimes your Knight in Shining armor is really just a douchebag in tin foil - Jenna, who saw it on pinterest".

The ease of the writing and the flow of the story kept me invested and I didn't want to put it down. If I could have stayed up all night reading, I would have. Instead, I took every opportunity I had to read. Before work, during lunch, after work, at the car dealership.... Waiting to get my car serviced was a lot less painful when I had this book to keep me company.

This is definitely a story I will re-read whenever I need a pick me up. You can't help but get in a good mood while living in Molly and Weston's world.
