5 stars, would buy again...

...but I already did, and one's enough. eight more words required. four more words required.

Stephen Kings Schreibstil ist einfach klasse. Das Buch ist wirklich sehr zu empfehlen! Ich weiß nicht, wann ich das letzte Mal so gefesselt von einem Werk war!

'It' ist Stephen Kings Meisterwerk.

What a book! A dark journey into the underworld of the evil that is truely terrifying. King has done it again, with this tale. This is a book that will draw you in, then the clown "Pennywise" will drag you down..where "They ALL float down here!" I was with those teenagers/adults as they recounted there journey of terror into self-realization. The only reason that it didn't get a 5 stars in my book is they ending could of been alot scarier. Those who read the book will know what I mean...Overall though, another masterpiece of terror by Stephen King...

Though not a great piece of literature, It does make for a good summer read. However, 200-300 pages could have been left behind. The repititios character description quickly becomes boring. (Richie's jokes, and Bill's stuttering are crucial to the plot, but annoyed me after a few hundred pages.) The best part by far is the supernatural presence. Clearly inspired by H.P. Lovecraft, the stories last chapters are the best. Though not for everyone, the final showdown with It becomes a weird twist of reality.

This book, written long before I was mature enough to handle it, holds meaning and depth that can be seen by someone of any age. Reading this as a thirteen year old child, the horror and memories that King wrote about were all too clear in my mind, and made the book seem even more real, terrifying, and amazing. Each character- from tomboyish Beverly to flawed leader Bill held a trait that I could relate to, and made me feel as if I had defeated the great monster that haunted my own chilhood memories along with these seven characters that had almost become my peers. It is a must- read for any mature teenager (a bit too graphic for those under 13), child at heart, or anyone wanted to experience mastery by America's great storyteller. King captures us and brings adults back to their childhood, and children to face their most inner fears.

I am an avid fan of Stephen King and I have to say, this is my favorite book of any author. As a child myself, it addresses some of my darker fears in a thouroughly entertaining way. I can really relate to the characters. "IT" is one of the scariest books I've ever read. It grabs you and won't let go. I have read the book at least five times and still want to reread it. My copy is so battered and worn you can barely make out the title. It is a great book for the beach. I wouldn't reccomend reading "IT" while relaxing in the tub. NEVER SEE THE MOVIE. The movie is very disappointing. It puts way too much emphasis on the clown aspect of IT and the final scene is badly made. But anyway, to truly understand the power of this book you must read it. It seems larger than life and looms over you for years to come

This ain't the clown your mama took you to see at the circus. This one is downright scary! What a great book! The movie wasn't too bad either, until they totally blew the ending. Tim Curry was awesome as Pennywise. I've never liked clowns and Stephen King proves my point, they are really creepy.
The only King book better then this one is The Stand (the best book of all time). Don't let the number of pages scare you away from this one, it's worth every page.
The characters are very well written and you'll be cheering for most of them, except for that creepy clown. But you'll love his total evilness too.
You should read this book when you have some time off because you won't be able to put it down. Just stock up on munchies and lock the door.

I'm 14, and thats the first Stephen King book I have ever read. It is the most beautifally put together book I have ever read. The books by Thomas Harris and Dean Koontz I've read are very good indeed, but not as good as this. The size of the book may be quite intimidating, but once you reach page one hundred, the pages fly by so quick. I wish it could have been longer! Stephen King, if you read this, Thankyou for putting out such an excellent book, I enjoyed it immensly, and am looking foward to reading more of you books! For anyone else reading this, I HIGHLY reccomend this book to people of all ages. you WON'T regret you read this book.

Another of King's BIG BOOKS, that do in 1,000+ pages what any other author would do far more effectively in about 300. Nothing in the novel justifies the sheer length of this thing. It just goes on and on and on.
To be fair, there are glimmers of King at his best. Nobody in America writes better about young people, especially children. And his skill at creating likable, interesting and sympathetic characters around whom to build his stories is remarkable. It is just that his method of taking pages and pages and pages and pages and pages to tell us everything about everybody gets to be wearing, and the plot machinations he puts these people through gets increasingly predictable, and the Confrontation With Ultimate Evil is simply uninteresting.
