Über den Autor und weitere Mitwirkende
Bill Willingham has been writing, and sometimes drawing, comics for more than twenty years. During that time he's had work published by nearly every comics publisher in the business and he's created many critically acclaimed comic book series, including Elementals, Coventry, PROPOSITION PLAYER and of course the seminal Vertigo series FABLES, as well as its spin-off series FAIREST, JACK OF FABLES and THE LITERALS. His work has been nominated for many awards, including the Eisner, Harvey and Ignatz comic industry awards and the International Horror Guild award. He lives somewhere near a good poker room.

As an aside, I was lucky enough to get that first trade signed at Baltimore Comic Con, and Bill Willingham was gracious and friendly. That attitude just adds to the overall attraction of his stories.
#70- Kingdom Come - a fun little romp involving The Farm and questioning whether to go to back to the Homelands.
#71-72-Skullduggery - Cinderella centered adventure as she goes on a special mission important for the war.
#73-75 - Issue 75 is super sized (so more content!) The war between the empire and Fabletown. The halfway point of the entire series.
#76 - Around the Town - The calm AFTER the storm.
#77-81- The Dark Ages - Bring one tyrant down and another one emerges.
#82 - Waiting for the Blues - A funeral.
Also collects: The Jungle Book back up feature which is roughly the size of ANOTHER issue.
10 whole pages of Mark Buckingham sketches, the most we've gotten up until now.
This is one of the strongest volumes of Fables, the stories here are packed with plot development and character work featuring the majority of the cast. It is also the strongest because it is the halfway point of the series. We get two stories involving the two big bads of the series back to back. The Advesary and Mister Dark (you are crazy into thinking that the Mister Dark problem was dealt with early on, any reader can construct that Mister Dark has been the whole villain of the last 75 issues). This volume is the crux. The series will end with issue 150, 75 is the halfway point and Bill Willingham has weaved an amazing story using these larger than life characters and stories that parallel each half.
The deluxe treatment as always makes the art pop and it'll be fun re-reading these stories once again on strong glossy pages. A must own for any Fables fan and a definite gift for those already collecting this series in their deluxe glory. I just hope Vertigo continues to release them this thick and with this much love. Enjoy this deluxe edition because the next one will NOT be liked by many fans.
If amazon is correct, the next volume will include 9 issues of The Great Fables Crossover which was not a well-liked event in the Fables canon. It will also contain the graphic novel Wolves at the Heartland graphic novel which again is not a fan favorite in the Fables timeline. I know I am not in a hurry to reach Deluxe Book Ten. I want Book Eleven.
If I had one complaint it would be that the back up comic from Peter & Max featuring Clara, Peter, and Bo Peep was not in this Volume since it had to do with the war and we already know it was colored and printed at the end of the reprinted first volume of the Fables paperback. It would have been nice to have the entire war story in this edition.
