Kurzbeschreibung

Former rivals Quinn Bradford and Elise McKinney are not friends, at least not anymore. As teens, all they cared about was psyching each other out before concerts. But when Quinn—now the keyboardist for Shaken Dirty, the hottest rock band on the scene—returns to his hometown and hears about the car accident that shattered Elise's career, he's determined to make things right.

Elise wants nothing to do with an arrogant rock star, despite how bad she so clearly wants him, so Quinn kidnaps the stubborn little piano player and whisks her back to his mansion. A little seduction might be just the thing to keep Elise under his care…and in his bed. But amid pranks both childish and very adult, their past comes rearing back to haunt them. And it might be more than either of them can forget.

His rival’s in his bed, and this rocker is ready to play.

5.0 von 5 Sternen Loved 24. Februar 2014
Von Greg Fuhrman - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
I seriously enjoyed this book. I did not read the first one so had no expectations while reading this. But I absolutely loved Quinn. And Elise was brilliant. So much lately you have the broken couple trying to make it work and at some point more likely than not you just want to strangle, slap, or smother in her sleep the main heroine. Just her attitude, actions, and even sometimes the way she speaks.

Elise has lost everything and seriously I was expecting it but it did not happen. Elise was strong, she gave as good as she got, and I love how she stood up for herself, admitted when she was wrong, and was a great character.

I also loved the pranks. They were great. Quinn has his own set of issues, but I liked his take charge attitude and how creative he got to win Elise back. I really liked this book and can't wait to get my hands on the first one!

Drive Me Crazy is the second book in Tracy Wolff's Shaken Dirty series. I often wonder if I will enjoy the other books when I so loved the first book, and in this case the answer is YES!!

In this book we get Quinn's story. In his younger days he was a classical pianist and his favorite rival was Elise. They often pranked each other, looked out for each other, and as teenagers, fell in love with each other. After their first and only time together, Quinn's life gets in the way and out of fear he leaves Elise without any other word or contact.

The story picks up ten years later and Elise has just endured a horrific accident which has added to her loss. Ten years ago she lost the man who she swore owned her heart, and now, she has essentially lost everything else she had left. Imagine her surprise finding Quinn back in her life. Quinn is determined to help Elise with her recent trouble. Despite Quinn's rockstar status, he is still the prankster Elise fell in love with. They share a passion for their music and a chemistry that is off the charts HOT!!! Finding their way back to each other was almost too easy but of course there are some mistakes made along the way, thankfully none of them had me wanting to throw my e-reader.

I love Wolff's writing. She really engages you not only in the story but the characters themselves. In all honesty I have to say I love her ability to create amazing imagery for the sex scenes, WOW!! I will never look at piano benches or eat chocolate ice cream the same way ever again.

What is wonderful is that Quinn really does not come across as your typical rocker in this book. You don't get much concert or groupie craziness in this story either but more the background of what happens when the band is not touring. Oh, but you definitely get the very hot tattoed rocker look with Quinn.

While Elise and Quinn's story can be read as a stand alone I highly recommend you read the books in order, so read Crash Into Me first. It is Ryder and Jamison's story which I loved. Wolff does an amazing job of intertwining the band's story into the love story and the band's story does follow from the first book. As I love this series and I love Wolff's writing, I definitely recommend this book. The cover alone makes the book worthy of being read.
hopefully there will be more Shaken Dirty stories to come very soon.

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

5.0 von 5 Sternen So funny and romantic - loved this addition to the Shaken Dirty series 26. Februar 2014

I'm a sucker for the rockers. And, Quinn is in a class all himself when it comes to rockers, because he is the ultimate dichotomy. He has the tats, the piercings, the wild streak. And, yet, he's a classical pianist who is as protective of those he cares about as you can get. That is an incredibly sexy combination. Drive Me Crazy was amazingly good.

Quinn and Elise were trained together as concert pianists when they were young. Both came from very broken homes and fathers. In Quinn, it manifested in a teen who was a little wild. In Elise, it manifested in crippling stage fright - not a good thing when your job is to perform complicated piano pieces on stage. Quinn used his antics to relax her, and she fell in love with him. But, he eventually left her, and she never got over it.

Fast forward 10 years and Quinn shows up in Elise's hospital room after a car accident kills the only family she has and destroys her piano career. He brings her back to his house to recuperate, and despite Quinn's theory that he's not good enough for her and Elise's desire to not get hurt again, it's impossible for them to deny that the feelings they had never went away.

Quinn was absolutely the most dreamiest rocker I've ever read about. There's a scene where Quinn in his many tats, rocker hair, crazy piercings and bad language sits down at a baby grand and plays a Rachmaninoff like no one's business. I've read about lots of hot guys - the alphas, the billionaires, the cowboys. This guy is the hottest out of all of them. Seriously, I don't know what it is, but Quinn made me weak in the knees in the best way possible.

In addition to that, it becomes apparent early on, by the shear fact that he shows up in Elise's hospital room after a decade of staying away, that Quinn is a protector. There's a lot of backstory as to why he left Elise all those years ago, and it all goes back to him wanting to make sure she was safe.

Elise is an amazing heroine. She too came from an awful home life, and she made the best life she could with the talent she had. There were more than a few times when I shed a few tears for Elise's predicament following her accident. I can't imagine spending my whole life training to do one thing, and then in a blink of an eye, not being able to do it anymore. She was unbelievably strong in the face of something like that.

She was NOT strong, however, in the face of the chemistry she had with Quinn. It leapt off the pages and smacked you in the face time and time again. And, when they finally gave up and gave in, holy smokes, was that some good stuff. But, the best thing about their relationship was, it was forged in this crazy friendship from when they were kids. I love those kinds of relationships. They were always pranking each other while they performed together, and they picked up right where they left off. The pranks they pulled on each other were hilarious! The rest of the story was pretty heavy, so those light moments were very well timed and very much needed.

I also enjoyed the peek at the other band members - Ryder, who we met in Crash Into Me (Shaken Dirty #1), Jared, Wyatt, and Micah. We see how Ryder and Jamison are doing now that they're engaged. We see how Wyatt is doing in rehab, and we see how Jared and Micah are doing in the face of Micah's ultimate betrayal. It's not a pretty sight for many of them, and it was sad to read.

But, the HEA was worth it all. I couldn't tear myself away from Quinn and Elise, even when I saw the bad stuff coming for them. Tracy Wolff is an amazing author, and I'm loving her Shaken Dirty series. I can't wait for the next installment!

4.0 von 5 Sternen Another Shaken & Dirty story. 24. Februar 2014
Von Rachel Hamilton - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Shaken Dirty are back baby ! Grab your backstage pass and delve into the world of rock and roll.

This book starts up after the events of the last book Crash into Me, but it can be read as a stand alone. Though you will no doubt enjoy it more if you have read the first one. That said, you are in for a treat. This is Quinn's the keyboardist story and let me tell you he owns it from the start. Who knew he was a classically trained pianist ? He's all rock and roll, so that came as a nice surprise.

As for the heroine, we have Elise, whom I liked right away The prologue had me laughing with her and by the first chapter I wanted to give her a hug. She is the perfect foil for Quinn. She knows him from a long time ago and they have a history together. My favourite thing about her was that she have as good as she got.

These two cracked me up with their pranks. From the first page then throughout the book, we get fun prank after prank. The one with the twinkles is a classic. The reaction of the guys is the best. But though there are light moments, there are darker moments too. There is a scene towards the end of the book where my heart was hurting for Quinn.

I liked how the author kept the story from the previous book moving through this one. The band deal with events that happened in Ryder's book. It was good to see the band dealing with the repercussions. It made them feel more real.

When Elise McKinney wakes up in a hospital room after an accident that killed her best friend and may have destroyed her career as a concert pianist, the last person she expected to see was Quinn Bradford. She hasn't seen him in ten years, not since he hot footed it out of bed leaving her behind without a word.

Quinn couldn't stay away when he hears of the accident. When he sees Elise, he quickly plots to kidnap her and take care of her. Help her rest and heal. Anything to see her healthy and happy. But what starts out as a harmless gesture to a friend from long ago soon starts to develop into something more. With each prank they pull on each other they grow a little closer until neither can stop the passion that flares.

But as they start to fall or maybe fall again, mcan their pasts, band troubles or worry for the future stop them from finding a happy ever after or can they find their way back to each other as they did after years apart ?

I am eagerly awaiting the next book in this series, I'm hooked. Add me to the groupies for Shaken Dirty. With hopefully stories for troubled Wyatt, Jared and another band member, I can't wait to go back on tour with the band.

5.0 von 5 Sternen Quinn and Elise are perfect together! 26. Februar 2014
Von C. Halford - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Originally given 4.5 hearts at Rookie Romance.

I am most definitely a fan of the Shaken Dirty guys and their books! I have been looking forward to this book since Crash Into Me and it definitely didn't disappoint.

Quinn is just divine. Seriously. To begin with, he sounds gorgeous. He's a tattooed, ripped, rock star sex god...need I say more?! Seriously though, there's a whole lot of depth to this rocker that makes him so irresistible. When he was younger he was a talented classical pianist, and now he's part of a wildly popular rock band called Shaken Dirty, playing the keyboards. I loved Quinn's obvious passion for music.
Now Quinn had a pretty rough childhood, and it left its marks. He doesn't think he's good enough for anyone, particularly for Elise. He doesn't see what an incredible man he is, and he pushes everyone away except for his bandmates.
Elise had an equally rough childhood, but in different ways to Quinn. She developed a calm, collected exterior that hid all of her vulnerability. After a car accident robs her of the only things in her life that kept her afloat, she's left to pick up the pieces of her shattered life. For some reason, I was worried that Elise would be kind of bitchy but she's far from it. She can be a little awkward and tries to keep herself on the fringes, but Quinn doesn't let that happen. She's very endearing and you have no choice but to urge her to find some happiness (Quinn) and grab it (him) and never let go.

I loved Quinn and Elise together, they are a great book couple! At first Elise resents the fact that Quinn brings out her vulnerabilities and she doesn't trust him, but it's clear that the attraction between them isn't going to let her keep her shields up. I also loved the way Elise and Quinn connect through music. The passion they have for each other and for the music is a tangible and electric feeling. The pranks they play on each other are brilliant and add the perfect amount of humour to the story. I always looked forward to how they would one up each other.
Also, that sexual chemistry between them! Hot damn! I felt the heat coming from my kindle, and from my wildly blushing cheeks, during the sex scenes. It was like ten years of pent up desire erupted into an inferno on the page, and it worked so, so well.

I loved this book. And I want the next one. Now. It has the perfect blend of humour, sexiness, intense love and pain, whilst packing a heavy emotional punch.
All of the Shaken Dirty guys are in this book, and I really enjoy seeing them interact with each other because they're basically brothers. I can't wait to see what the rest of the series will bring for the other members of the band, and which women can tame these wild and sexy rockers! If they're as awesome as the first two books in the series, I will be very happy.
