5.0 von 5 Sternen What a gift! A gift that keeps on giving.. 24. Dezember 2011

For Christmas, I got myself the Kindle Keyboard and couldn't wait to download books!

I browsed my Wish List; I browsed the suggested recommendations; the Best Sellers list, and even the Free List.

The Dog Next Door was the one for me and I couldn't wait to read it. I'm a real dog lover and love good stories about all animals.

This book is not only a great book of many wonderful stories, beautifully written for all people to enjoy reading or listening to, which in of itself is a 'gift', but the fact that it was in the list of Free books, made it truly a Gift for me.

Thank you for the wonderful gift that keeps giving - from the dogs that these stories are about, the people in the stories, the authors who wrote them, the publishers who shared them, and Amazon who gave it to me.

Merry Christmas!

This book is a delightful collection of stories about dogs and their relationships with their human companions. This book is definitely written with a Christian influence and I did not understand that when I downloaded it. This fact does not bother me as I found this to be a pleasant and enjoyable way to an afternoon.

The stories included in this book are sweet and heartwarming and made me think about the relationships humans and their dogs develop over the years. This book is very well formatted and was easy to read. One of the things I liked about it is that you do not have to read it all at once to enjoy it. I read a couple of the stories before bed one night, and finished the book the next afternoon. I would recommend this book for anyone who loves dogs and is looking for a delightful, light read.

5.0 von 5 Sternen A Story for Everyone 23. Dezember 2011
Von Amazon Customer - Veröffentlicht auf
Format: Kindle Edition Verifizierter Kauf
This is probably the best collection of personal stories I've read yet. Being a dog lover, I was drawn to the book by the title; after reading a couple of the stories, I knew the authors had captured the essence of having a dog: your dog is going to love you no matter what, and it's your responsibility to be worthy of that love. All kinds of dogs, dozens of types of people, the stories cover quite a chunk of humanity and interaction between humans and the dogs in their lives. This is a must-read for any dog lover. For those of you who haven't yet decided whether you're a "dog person," this book might just push you off the fence!

5.0 von 5 Sternen Many stories of dogs and their special relationship with people. 21. September 2014
Von By deanrn77@gmail - Veröffentlicht auf

The following stories are filled with the characteristics of dogs and the amazing abilities that they have. They sense when someone is sad and need extra love. They seem to know when someone is lost and whether it needs brought home or to lead someone to it. The main characteristic portrayed is undying love for the person to whom they have become attached.ppl l.p.

I thought this book would be a full length novel, but it is a collection of short stories gleaned from dog lovers.

Many of the stories are simply written accounts of how the dog came to be in the writer's home, some specifically target an event, such as the account from one dog lover of how their family dog saved her from a child molester. All are written with deep and abiding love for their precious pets.

Dogs are the most beautiful, loving animals it has been my luck to have "owned" during my life. Many suffer the most horrendous abuse from people who are rarely punished for their crimes. How people can do these things and how magistrates and judges can let them get away with it makes my blood boil.

This collection of accounts from loving dog owners was uplifting for me to read and I thank Callie Smith Grant for editing and publishing them.
