It is divided up into four sections, namely: 1. Space Matters, 2. Setting Your Style, 3. Room by Room and 4. Attention to Detail. In all sections they have many useful room plans, advice and tips. I particularly like the "guidelines" that they have throughout the book. These are always 10 rules for example Colorful Style Guidelines or Modern Glamour Style Guidelines, which are meant to help you achieve a certain look or style. At the end it also has a practical directory, which thankfully includes all websites.
All in all an excellent book, that I have already spent many hours on reading and browsing and undoubtedly still will spend many many more.
The structure of the book was well organized, and the text and photos supported each other equally well. The quotes sprinkled throughout were also perfectly timed. 'Decorate' is clearly a considered work that focuses on serving its readers and for that I am grateful.
The only thing I would change about this book is that Jonathan Adler's home is clearly featured more prominently than other spaces and it felt disproportionate. However, Adler has a fabulous home, so how bad is it to see more of it than other spaces?
I've given this book as a gift and the recipients are always pleasantly surprised by how much they love this book! I'll be giving the German version to a friend as a gift this year. So glad it's now available in German!
