HASH(0x8b12bf24) von 5 Sternen I Have an Empty Inbox Thanks to Steve Scott and This Book 7. Februar 2014
Von Leigh - Veröffentlicht auf
Format: Kindle Edition
My inbox was overflowing to the point where I was missing messages from important contacts because I had so many newsletters and junk messages. After a while, I even thought about deleting everything and closing my account! Fortunately, I had the opportunity to read Steve Scott's book, Declutter Your Inbox. What I enjoyed about this book is that it gave me a step-by-step process for clearing out my inbox, so I never felt overwhelmed. I started out with 4,405 messages in my primary inbox (Gmail), nearly 7,000 messages under my promotions tab, and thousands of messages in other folders. Using the blueprint in this book, I deleted close to 17,000 e-mails, unsubscribed from dozens of newsletters and promotional email lists, and now have the pleasure of seeing "Your primary tab is empty. Nothing to see here." It is a lot less stressful, and now it really takes no time at all to process the 20 to 30 messages I receive each day. I highly recommend this book if you have been struggling to tame email clutter.

HASH(0x8b12bec4) von 5 Sternen Declutter more than just your inbox 14. Februar 2014
Von D Kendra Francesco - Veröffentlicht auf

The thing to remember about this book: YOU have to DO the steps in order for it to work.

His 9 Steps are broken down into more detailed - but immensely do-able - steps. One of them is to make emails short. In his words, "Short replies aren't rude." He points out to make emails actionable. Instead of an open-ended question, make it a question that needs a specific reply. He also reminds us that phone calls or Skype are still viable options.

His tone is that of a friend trying to give another friend a helping hand. Some of the suggestions can go a long way in decluttering other parts of your digital world. Just remember, the book won't do the work for you. YOU have to DO the steps to declutter your email.

HASH(0x8b424690) von 5 Sternen Effective Solutions For Dealing With Email 22. Mai 2014

I have been tormented by email trouble since the past 2-3 years. I've tried many ways to deal with it but failed. Scott's book has provided me with great tips to deal with this menace once and for all.

I've noted all the tips that apply to me and already I can see the difference.

The tips that I found most effective so far:

Check email no more than twice a day.
Switch off all email notifications.
Every email should be unopened or acted upon. No exceptions.
Use the four D's to deal with email.

I do wish I had read Scott's book earlier!

Highly recommended.

HASH(0x8b427174) von 5 Sternen My inbox is empty 11. Februar 2014
Von Toon Verlinden - Veröffentlicht auf
Format: Kindle Edition Verifizierter Kauf
My inbox was empty before I started reading this nice ebook, but I'm still happy that I've read it. Scott gives a nice and clean overview of tips, tools and techniques to clean your mailbox. It is faster and more convenient than reading endless blogs on the topic. But remember: the promise of an empty mailbox will only come true if you follow all his steps and take action. Not if you just read the book and do nothing.

Why not five stars? I'm missing information on how to get all the action steps out of your mailbox. Some system, tips or blueprint to use for example evernote to streamline the process of getting your ToDo's onto a ToDo list.
