Das DVRT -System ist weit mehr als nur eine Beschreibung von Übungen die sich mit einem Sandbag ausführen lassen.
Josh Henkin hat in dem Buch ein umfassendes System zur variablen Anpassung des Trainingswiderstandes in den verschiedensten Dimensionen erläutert. Im Kraft Training wir meist nur über das Gewicht gesteigert - im Bodyweight Training häufig ausschliesslich über die Anzahl der Widerholungen - Josh Henkin arbeitet mit wesentlich mehr variablen und erreicht so, dass der Widerstand immer exakt an die Bedürfnisse des Sportlers angepasst werden können und das ohne ständig entweder merh Reps oder mehr Gewicht zu brauchen. Ich habe auch für mein Training mit der Kettlebell eine Menge Anregungen aus dem Buch bekommen die ich praktisch 1:1 umsetzen konnte - es ist also kein Sandbach nötig um von dem Buch zu profitieren.

Tolle Buch dass jeder Sportler lesen sollte der bereit ist seinen Horizont und damit seine Möglichkeiten im Training zu erweitern.

This exhaustive compendium of all things 'sandbag' is one of the most impressively detailed training books I've read in several years. First, Josh lays down the "law" of sandbag training, establishing the efficacy of the DVRT tool and its associated methodology. If you've been on the fence about jumping into the "sandpile", you'll likely be a full-fledged convert after reading the first two chapters.

The characteristic Dragon Door design aesthetics are also on full display. Beautifully rendered examples of exactly how to perform each exercise as well as numerous examples of the technique pitfalls to avoid. You want actual sandbag workouts? Programming, progressions, it's all in here. Josh Henkin's DVRT system is a rock-solid training approach presented in a fool-proof manual of instruction.

Josh Henkin is one of the most innovative fitness professionals that I have ever met. He has created both a tool and a training system that provides a total fitness solution, not just for athletes, but for the masses looking to burn fat, build muscle, and bulletproof their joints. In this book, you'll not only learn progression principles that apply to Ultimate Sandbag Training, but also to every other training tool including your own bodyweight. Whether you want to exclusively use the Ultimate Sandbag or add it to your training toolbox for more variety, this book has it all. I only wish he would have published this book sooner so I could have avoided the pitfalls of barbell training as a former college football player!

Josh Henkin is a very smart coach and has done an excellent job in his DVRT Ultimate Sandbag Training System.
He takes his complex understanding of movement and strength and outlines them simply with the highest bang-for-your-buck exercises and philosophies in this book. Though the chief implement is a sandbag, the principles apply to all exercise in general, giving the reader a fountain of information that is safe and applicable to whatever their fitness or strength goals might be. 5 stars and well done Josh!

Ok, so I got the DVRT book the other day via mail, I was interested to read about the system, after all its a sand bag! A nice looking one almost sterile like( there is no sand all over the place, so you can think about training at home)
When I opened the book the first thing I read was “it's not a sand bag.” Well I thought to myself, it is a fancy looking sand bag. And at the end of the day its just a sand bag!
I have to say that when I was in the IDF we “played” with sand bags... well not so much in the service but before, when I went to special units selections trials.... there was some sand bag training, mainly filling them with sand, carrying them some 50-200m away, emptying them and starting over again for a few hours.... not to mention carrying a Stretcher for a few klicks (km) to test our resilience
so needless to say I had some memory of sands bag “training.”

In comes the DVRT book. While reading – after overcoming my first reaction to ditch this book – I discovered a system that really made my interest rise, so at the end of it all I want to go and experiment with the ideas and exercises in the park.

As an RKC and Primal Move instructor for sometime and someone who believes in movement and tries to find more systems that incorporate movement and resistance training (the main reason I like KB) I think I have found the next thing!
Cant wait to meet Josh Henkin or one of the DVRT instructors and pic their brains about ideas for training!
Go go DVRT training!!!

It’s a system. Josh Henkin’s lays it out in his new book DVRT The Ultimate Sandbag Training System: For Dynamic Power, Superior Athletic Performance and Enduring Strength. Josh shows you How to train with the Ultimate Sandbag in a progressive way. He starts at the beginning with the deadlift. From there to the front hold clean. Then moves to the bear hog squat. Each exercise leads to another, and to another. It builds off each exercise to progress to the next. DVRT is a system that works!

Once you have the basic exercise Josh gives you workout at the back of the book. Set up as Beginner, Intermediate and Advance. As a fit pro, and a DVRT certified coach, if you are just staring out, start at the beginner workout. As you get better progress the next level you. His workouts are deceiving. That is what I like, and my clients, about using the DVRT in training.
