Taking one star off because of the misleading title. There are so many books with the same title which are focusing on different branches that made my research for the right one very difficult. Several editions are on the market described on the same way that the risk of buying an older version or a different version is very high and all because of the book title.

2.0 von 5 Sternen Digital version is junk 13. Februar 2015
Von Dan C - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verifizierter Kauf
The content of this book is definitely good, but the digital packaging of it is utter crap. This book is designed as a textbook, and as such, when my professor refers to page numbers, I would expect to be able to simply go to the specified page.

Except I can't. Because the digital version is just one long manuscript. One of my friends purchased the actual physical book, and not only does it have page numbers (as it should), the layout itself is both quite different and far superior.

Bottom line, unless they fix the incredibly poor formatting of the digital version, get the physical one if you're using at as a textbook.

1.0 von 5 Sternen Filthy with Mistakes 2. Oktober 2015
Von Steven D. - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com

This book is littered with typos. Do not purchase. Example: Page 238, Question 3.18 asks to divide 74 by 21 using unsigned 6-bit integers. Last I recall, the highest 6-bit unsigned integers can go is 64.

I'd stay away from this book as much as you can. I used this textbook for a course and even the professor has a strong disliking towards it. Do not buy.

1.0 von 5 Sternen Better off using google to understand the topics covered. 6. Juni 2016
Von apollo6375 - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com

After finishing my course, I must say that the ramblings of the author(s) make understanding simple concepts very difficult. They interject with unnecessary tangents, reference topics that have not and may not ever be covered. The graphics and illustrations were often confusing and not illustrated well.

I have never been forced to use a worse text in my academic career (and I have several degrees). I hope you don't have to use this book in its current form.

As other reviewers have notes, the binding of the book is the worst I have seen in a book. I have read books over 200 years old in better shape (I bought mine new).

1.0 von 5 Sternen Missing Text 22. August 2016
Von Jeff - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format: Taschenbuch Verifizierter Kauf
Kindle version blatantly cuts off one of the exercises in Chapter 1. Now I have to accept a 0 on a question because of awful formatting and error checking on part of Amazon. I don't wish to see how many other errors are in this text so I'll try my best to get a refund. As a side note, I think it's pretty bad that Kindle does not have page numbers. This is inconvenient for students who need to use specific page numbers to access content. Kindle users need to guess and waste time flicking through "locations" rather than simply typing in the page number.
1.0 von 5 Sternen Hard to understand. Really bad binding on the book 28. April 2017
Von Noel - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format: Taschenbuch Verifizierter Kauf
This book was required for a class. Even for someone like me with over a decade of IT experience, this book was a hard to read and even harder to understand. But thanks to youtube videos, which helped me understand a lot of the topics covered in this book, I got through my class with an A.

Also, the physical quality of this book is crappy. Pages were literally falling apart as you turn the pages. I returned the first book I rented because of this. The second book is the same. I would have returned it too but I realized I would most likely get another crappy book.
