Über den Autor und weitere Mitwirkende

Pat Ivey has been the associate athletic director for athletic performance at the University of Missouri since 2011, after serving the previous seven years as the school's assistant athletic for athletic performance and director of strength and conditioning. During his tenure at Missouri, he has helped produce multiple first-round draft picks. He was also the director of strength and conditioning at the University of Tulsa from 2002 to 2004, where he directed the efforts of all 18 sport programs.

Ivey lettered as a defensive end for the Missouri football team from 1993 to 1995 and was named the strongest athlete in the program's history in 1995. He was signed by the San Diego Chargers after college and spent two seasons with the team. He also went on to play with the Denver Broncos and Green Bay Packers.

In May 2012, Ivey was named Master Strength and Conditioning Coach by the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches association (CSCCa), the highest honor given in the strength and conditioning coaching profession.

Josh Stoner is the director of Speed, Strength & Conditioning at Coastal Carolina University in Conway, South Carolina. Previously, he was the director of strength and conditioning at the University of Missouri, where the football program produced four first-round NFL draft picks in four years under his guidance. In addition to being responsible for the athletic development of the football team, he was in charge of the throws portion of Missouri's track and field team.

As the assistant director of strength and conditioning at the University of Tulsa from 2002 to 2004, Stoner assisted with the football player development program. He was also responsible for the women's basketball, men's soccer, men's tennis, women's tennis, track and field, and cross country teams.

4.0 von 5 Sternen Update Your Programs Strength and Conditioning Program. 30. Juni 2014
Von Eric Whited - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format: Kindle-Edition mit Audio/Video Verifizierter Kauf
Good starter tool for all coaches, and a great way to update old programs. Authors made this very easy to read and reference, and if you get the electronic version, it has built in videos which make it interactive. Would be great to see more video's added to the book overtime, and add a more detailed section with examples on sports nutrition.

Von Oscar Peña - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format: Taschenbuch Verifizierter Kauf
This is really a very coplete book, it comes with an instructional dvd that shows you how to do some of the exercises in the book, I recommend seeing the dvd as you read the book, because with the explanation of the book and seeing it being performed on the dvd really helps you a lot with doing the exercise with good form to prevent injuries. Very complete book, definitely worth the money.

5.0 von 5 Sternen A Complete Training Program for Success 17. Januar 2012
Von Sport Book Reviewer - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format: Taschenbuch
(review written by Rusty Burney, Strength and Conditioning Coach at the University of Iowa)

I have seen firsthand the amount of research and effort that goes in to Coach Ivey and Coach Stoner's programs. Combining these cutting-edge programs with the mental conditioning and nutritional resources outlined in the book can only mean one thing for your program - RESULTS!

This book outlines a training philosophy that is unshakable in its approach to coaching and interacting with your players. You will learn why a proper team training setting is vital to team success. You will learn the how and why behind the 'PR Paradigm' and the 'Multi-Level System' of training, two vital components to any program. Along the way, you will be shown how to progress your players from an introductory level (Level 0) to an advanced level (Level 4 or 5) that encompasses all the variable qualities of strength and power that are needed to dominate your position on the football field. When combined with the position specific speed/agility/quickness and energy system programs detailed in the book, you have a complete training program for success that leaves no stone unturned.

I recommend that anyone involved with coaching and player development on any level get a copy of this book for their library today!
