Kurzbeschreibung

"One of Bitcoin's biggest challenges in becoming mainstream is the lack of regulatory clarity. Bitcoin Pandemonium brings together a sense of cohesiveness to Bitcoin's fragmented regulatory efforts." -Perianne Boring, Founder and President, Chamber of Digital Commerce

"Covering both the United States as well as the rest of the world in great detail, Nick’s work makes it easy for Bitcoin novices and veterans alike to grasp how Bitcoin has transformed the way governments regulate and facilitate that most fundamental cornerstone of civilization—money. If you want to understand Bitcoin and the full range of its monumental impact, look no further than Bitcoin Pandemonium." -Scott Robinson, Bitcoin Investor and Accelerator Head, Plug and Play Tech Center

Bitcoin Pandemonium is the most comprehensive and exhaustively-researched book about Bitcoin and virtual currencies to date. For the first time, the entire evolving story of Bitcoin is available all in one place - including, uniquely, the crucial legal and regulatory dimension. Referencing hundreds of different sources ranging from research reports to court cases, Bitcoin Pandemonium presents an entertaining and easy-to-understand tour de force that objectively covers the technological, economic, and business dimensions of this new global phenomenon in equal measures. These three dimensions are then used as a launching point for exploring and explaining the sudden tsunami of new Bitcoin-inspired laws, rules, and bans issued by governments and regulators the world over over the course of the past year. Whether you are a Bitcoin newcomer or expert, Bitcoin Pandemonium should be your very first stop for understanding and discussing the rise of virtual currencies.

5.0 von 5 Sternen "Bitcoin Pandemonium" is a Well-Informed and Entertaining Lesson 13. August 2014
Von Colby Anger - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
I picked this book up the other day and read through it by the end of the day. It's a fast read, but man does it cover its subject matter well! I come from an engineering and physics background, but the talk in the news has focused so much on Bitcoin this year that I wanted a better understanding of what was going on. Despite trying to read up on what exactly this new currency was all about, it was difficult to get a straight answer. When I started taking an economics course for my MBA I figured it was time to get better details, and I'm glad I picked this book over the few other options available. The author does a great job of quickly introducing readers to all the basics of the crypto-currency before moving on to how all of that figures into the craze surrounding Bitcoin.

The book discusses the origins of Bitcoin and works its way from there to recent events, including lengthy discussions of government and investor reactions from the United States and rest of the world. The author does a great job of keeping the terminology in terms that those who are not already interesting in these sorts of topics would recognize, and the book is full of recent references for those interested in following up on the topic for more details. As a physicist by trade, it's great to see an author that is not afraid to make it clear where they got their information from, and this book pulls from many, many sources. In fact, that is probably what makes this such a great starting reference. Factual information on Bitcoins is spread out all over the Internet, and at the very least this book offers a great starting reference for those looking to making themselves well informed on the topic. More than that though, the author does a great job of explaining their sources in plain language before building upon those basics to flesh out the details of Bitcoin, including recent examples of how investment groups, entrepreneurs, and world governments are reacting to the developments of the currency.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone curious about Bitcoin, as it does a fantastic job of bridging the gap between "informational" and "entertaining" reading.

I finished "Bitcoin Pandemonium" in a single sitting, and I can't recommend it enough.

Very comprehensive survey on Bitcoin, especially the legal developments of the past couple of years regarding virtual currencies and e-monies. If you've been in the space for a couple of years, this book gives you a much needed step back on what's happening by giving the perspective of time. There are several hundred references, and it is thoroughly documented. It presents factual, timely, and actionable information.

Great job Nick! You are definitely an asset for Bitcoin!

5.0 von 5 Sternen Great Bitcoin book for 30. Juli 2014
Von Brandon S. Smith - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verifizierter Kauf
This book came out today and I purchased and read it today. Easy to read but very well sourced and full of great information.

On a purely personal note this book was enjoyable and highly informational. True, most of the information in the book has been alluded to in other conversations but here it is all laid out end to end with references for factual documentation. I do believe that this is the most important crypto book in my Kindle and will be for some time.

If you are wondering what this whole Bitcoin thing is but don't want it 'dumbed down' for you then this is the book to get. For me it helped to clarify a few things that will be extremely helpful when explaining Bitcoin to the uninitiated.

Finally a well researched, easy to read, and up-to-date information about Bitcoins. The author understood how to cover the very important topics of legal and socioeconomic impact of this currency. The book is written in a way that one does not want to stop reading. This is a must-read for anyone new to Bitcoins as well as those who want to learn about the rarely discussed legal side of this new way of doing things.

5.0 von 5 Sternen Authority on all things Bitcoin 18. August 2014
Von Garrett G. - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
I picked up this book as a casual Bitcoin observer, having followed Bitcoin headlines but not knowing intricate ins and outs of the world's most popular digital currency. This book, in clear, well-written prose lays out the Bitcoin story. It begins by explaining the fascinating history and personalities behind Bitcoin's creation and then moves on to describe the reactions of various economic theories to Bitcoin's development. Finally, it provides an excellent (and understandable) review of some of the very complex legal and regulatory issues precipitated by the rise of Bitcoin.

Bitcoin is in its nascent stage of development, and this book might well go down as the first comprehensive summary of the Bitcoin impact.
