That may be enough for me to acquire a little bare bones, pigeon Czech, which is the height of my ambition.
So I'm saying I like this tape. The pronunciation is very clear, considering the jumble of warring consonants one single word may contain. And the accompanying booklet with the phrases in English, Czech and a phonetic approximation of Czech is very helpful. I plan to listen to the tape off and on until I know left from right.
I wish Berlitz language aids would not bother teaching me how to complain about meals or pick up strangers, but aside from this, most of the phrases are well selected.
If you're acquainted with Czech already, this tape is probably beneath your notice. But if you're starting from zero and just need a few polite and functional phrases for travel, it's a good investment.
