Kurzbeschreibung

**NEW YORK TIMES & USA TODAY BEST SELLING NOVEL**

All Keegan wanted was a roommate who was quiet, minded their own business, and paid for part of the rent. Instead, she got Camden Brooks.

Camden, with his sinful body, sharp tongue, and the inability to stay out of Keegan’s personal space, couldn’t seem to curb his interest in the new girl who wouldn’t put up with his domineering ways.

Feelings were running rampant, sexual tension was thick, and both were struggling to let go of control.

To some people, getting a roommate simply meant living with another person. But to both Camden and Keegan it was a curveball that neither was prepared to swing at.

**Strong sexual content**
Can be read as a stand alone. Each brother will have their own book. (A 96,000 word novel)

1.0 von 5 Sternen Insta-love, insta-friendship, insta-everything....why the rush 23. Mai 2014
Von JenWen - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verifizierter Kauf
Ok, brief synopsis: Keegan is a college student who wants to get into a nursing program. She lives with her mother and 8 year old sister, Sarah. Her mom is gone all of the time (partying and dating) and therefore Keegan is forced to be the mom. Sarah loves Keegan and truly needs her but Keegan decides to move out so she can enjoy being a young college student. I understand, I get it. So she checks out an ad for a roommate and that is when we meet Camden and his brother, Dodger. Camden is abrasive and a little heartless in the beginning. He says some mean stuff to Keegan but she still decides to live with him.

He owns a gym people. Why does he need a roommate?? He has plenty of money. This was never explained.

There is some of that insta friendship going on between Camden's brother Dodger and Keegan. They just met and he is helping her with her confidence, telling her that she is beautiful and has a nice body. He even says things like, 'I love you girl'. But its just a friendship. He wants to train her at the gym and he just loves her sister, Sarah. I just found that insta connection to be kind of weird and unbelievable. They just met but I understand it was a set up to encourage a relationship between Camden and Keegan. Just too obvious and unnatural.

So Camden is pretty cold to Keegan and he is always staring at her which causes Keegan to feel confused. She is, of course, attracted to him because he is gorgeous. And we can already guess he is being a jerk because he likes her. Why, I have no idea. They barely talk and when they do there is all this tension and anger. But for absolutely no reason. They just met. They barely have any conversations. Unless you you consider when the author tells you about their conversations later in Keegan's internal dialogue. Oh and we get a ton of Keegan's internal dialogue. Big fat paragraphs of what she is thinking and feeling. An editor could have helped cut that down and make it easier to read. I was skimming a lot.

Keegan was very insecure and any time anyone said anything that could be taken as a comment about her weight, she just lost it. She even told Camden (after a week of living together) not to bring his skinny amazon whores over any more. I mean really. I am kind of tall and I was offended. Everyone taller than her was an amazon. But Keegan would always say mean things about tall skinny women. She would throw these huge fits and she hit everyone at least once. Camden was constantly having to pick her up or calm her down. I cringed when she yelled at him that she hated him. I mean really!! I just kept thinking that the author must find this behavior somewhat acceptable.

**Minor Spoiler**
Oh and Luke...dear lord. I actually enjoyed that the author brought in this character but she didn't flesh it out. Not to spoil anything but Luke is not the greatest guy. Don't worry though, Keegan hits him in the face pretty good. And what man says to a women he hurt (in front of her new man) "I was falling for you" I mean what man says that? I felt like the author's voice came through too much, with the exception of Camden for the most part, with the male voices sounding more like women. The dialogue for the men sounded like a woman speaking or what a women would want to hear. It just didn't work for me. All the men were so sensitive to Keegan's feeling and her weight issues. Just gag me. (I am not a skinny person by the way and I can relate and I still was sick of her insecurity and all the men trying to encourage her to like herself.)

I liked Camden's character. I liked that he was alpha and a bad ass. But Keegan sucked. She was too insecure and I found hearing about it very annoying and repetitive. I did not understand why Camden liked her. He looked at her and just knew. Sorry that doesn't work for me. I need something more. Keegan goes from wanting to avoid him to jumping into his arms. I felt cheated. This book could have been good. It was trying to be like Beautiful Disaster (which I love!!) but it failed.

There will be at least three more books centered around these brothers so the author spends a lot of time introducing them. Blah blah more skimming for me. I don't like when books set up other books. One story at a time people. I think the author has a lot of potential though. But I doubt I will continue.

One more thing- the sex scenes were really good and I liked the interaction between Camden and Keegan, when they interacted. The problem was there was no build up. It was insta love/connection. And there was too much drama for me. These characters (Keegan) acted more like they were in High School. I recommend Until November and The Neighbor from Hell books if you like these type of stories.

1.0 von 5 Sternen Irresponsible and abusive 24. März 2015

I'm very disappointed in this book. Reading the description, I felt I was buying a book about 2 people becoming roommates and slowly finding they can't fight the attraction and give in to desire. What I got was a book full of abuse.

Keegan is a weak girl, and it's clear that she has self esteem issues because she lets this man talk to her the way he does. He's verbally abusing him, and though she comes back he threatens her about consequences.

I was not expecting this whole BDSM thing. This book offers a very irresponsible view of a lifestyle that requires two willing people and rules from the beginning. This is worse than 50 Shades! They never talk about what she wants, he just tells her to follow his rules and punishes her when she doesn't. He spanks her and ties her up, but nowhere is there mention of a safe word for her to use. Neither of them brings up the issue of birth control.

It just really bothers me when someone represents something like BDSM without any understanding of their own. This is a dangerous thing to do, because it encourages young people to try it without fully understanding the trust and responsibility that comes with it. This book just took an abusive turn that I wasn't expecting and was highly disappointed. I wouldn't read another book by this author, even though I'm interested in knowing a bit more about Dodger.

This story actually started at 50% through the book. Not a lot of character development. All in all it was a sweet read. I always appreciate the time and effort our author's put into their writing. I never want to be a person that discourages any written from continuing.
That said, this book just needed more meat and potatoes. More background on the h's mother, the friendship with her BFF, her formative year's etc. Life did just start with the add. I enjoyed the middle and end of the book. I just held my questions and enjoyed what I could. Not every book is a home run. But that doesn't mean that it doesn't hit a few bases.
Kinda had a hard time connecting with the characters. Only because I didn't get a good enough background on them. I really needed more background on the H too. The only thing I know is he manages the family gym.
I can tell real effort went into writing this book. I will keep my eye on this author.
Thank you Ms. Borel for your time and efforts in bringing us Bender.

This was an enjoyable read, with some fun banter between characters. I struggled with the incongruity of the characters a little bit, especially Keegan. I liked her, and connected with the insecurity that seemed to work itself into all facets of her life. However, I found her whiney and immature reactions tiring, especially considering how mature she had to be with taking care of herself and her little sister. I liked Camden, but we never seemed to learn much about him being surface details. I also felt like his excuses for poor behavior were fairly lame, and didn't fit with his personality. I wished we had more insight into the two as a couple. At times I felt like I was getting an overview, rather than sinking into their world, and it kept me from registering any depth in their relationship. The sexy scenes were quite hot, but they too felt a bit superficial. All in all, it was a good book with good characters and not too many editing errors. However, I like getting lost in a book's world, so I doubt I'll read the next in the series.

I actually enjoyed this read and seeing as how I had to scroll to the bottom of the page to get to the "review button" I'm surprised that a lot of other people didn't think so. I quickly peeked at a few but couldn't get a feel of what they thought but this should be interesting to see what they saw that I didn't. To each their own and all that.

The characters themselves have a few issues that I would have loved to see not in them. One being the leading male is a bit harsh and off putting to the extreme and even though he attempts to correct himself later on he doesn't fully redeem himself like I had hoped. Instead he forces you to either get with him or leave him. The leading lady also had a weight image/ daddy/ mother issue thing going continuously throughout the entire book despite after the fact that the many leading men and friends in her life told her otherwise. Different issues between the two and individually seemed to get swept under the rug repeatedly until it either disappeared or went full bloom and couldn't be hidden any longer.

Other than that I would totally recommend this book to anyone. I'm not sure when I will be picking up the next couple of books but be sure that I will be. I'm looking forward to hearing the enthralling tales of the other 3 hot brothers.
