      Dank dem MediaTek MT7622 64-bit ARM SoC mit zwei Cortex-A53 Kernel mit bis zu 1.35GHz Taktrate bringt das Gerät auch bei hohen Anforderungen Leistung wie sie sonst nur in der Profi-Klasse üblich ist.
      Gespart wurde durch das Weglassen von USB 3.0 (was 2.4GHz WiFi leicht stören kann und das Design sicherlich wesentlich verteuert hätte) und 2.5G Ethernet (was zumindest am WAN Port schon schön gewesen wäre). Wer aber mit "nur" 1 Gbit/s am WAN auskommt, dem sei das Gerät empfohlen. Und wer USB 3.0 braucht kann sich ja einen RasbPi o.ä. daneben stellen ;)

      Zudem ist das Gerät perfekt geeignet um es mit OpenWrt einzusetzen, da es (bis wenige optische Details) mit dem von OpenWrt unterstützten Linksys E8450 baugleich ist für den eine sehr einfache Installation von OpenWrt möglich ist (siehe auch github.com/dangowrt/linksys-e8450-openwrt-installer )

      Beide WiFi Schnitstellen (im MediaTek MT7622BV SoC integriertes 4T4R auf 2.4GHz nach IEEE802.11bgn Standard, per PCIe angebundene MediaTek MT7915E 4T4R auf 5GHz nach IEEE802.11an/ac/ax) werden sehr gut vom Open Source `mt76` Treiber unterstützt und der integrierte MediaTek MT7531 Gigabit Switch (der mit dem SoC intern mit 2.5G verbunden ist) ist konfigurierbar (VLANs, ...). Und dank des eher üppigen CPU ist auch noch genug Speck fuer VPN, AdBlock, QoS, etc. vorhanden.

      Durch ein schnelleres Internet (250/40) war mein alter Router (Netgear Nighthawk X4S AC2600) nicht mehr schnell genug für SQM/Cake.
      Mit diesem Router auf openWrt geflashed ist dies hingegen möglich. Wohl auch hin bis ca. 450-500 Mbit - jedenfalls liest man dies von anderen Nutzern.

      Wifi 6 5GHz mit 80 MHz Kanalbandbreite läuft auch ohne Probleme bislang.

      Daher absolute Empfehlung solange man openWRT darauf installiert.

      Super toller und performanter Router. Ich benutze ihn als Accesspoint/Router hinter einer FRITZ!Box 7510, die nur Modem/Telefon und Dect macht. Alles andere macht der Kleine hier.
      Mit openwrt muss man sich auseinandersetzen. Wer das bisher noch nie gemacht hat und keinen background hat. Könnte, muss nicht, schnell erschlagen werden von openwrt. Es gibt aber sehr gute YouTube Anleitungen!
      Nur Mut, es lohnt sich. Zu standard Oberfläche kann ich nichts sagen, da ich gleich auf openwrt geupdated habe. Ach ja, Stromverbrauch liegt ca. bei 3,5 Watt im Ruhezustand (idle).

      Ich habe gleich nach dem Auspacken die OpenWrt Firmware aufgespielt (github
      linksys-e8450-openwrt-installer).
      Das geht sehr einfach über die Web-Oberfläche des Routers.

      Mit OpenWrt (Open Source Router Firmware) stehen dann alle Möglichkeiten offen, wer sich gerne mit der Materie beschäftigt wird hier bei einem tollen Router fündig.
      Ein Großer Vorteil ist der neue Wifi6 Standard der auch von OpenWrt unterstützt wird (eines der wenigen Geräte bei denen es funktioniert).
      Weiterhin läuft auf dem Router auch AdGuard Home welches lästige Werbung und Tracking im gesamten Heimnetz (auch Fernseher, Smartphones etc.) blockiert.

      Die WLAN-Abdeckung und Geschwindigkeit ist für meine 3 Zimmer Wohnung sehr gut, beworben werden bis zu 175m², das wird nur über 2.4GHz zu erreichen sein.
      Über 5GHz Wifi sind Problemlos die 320 Mbit/s zu erreichen, bei 2.4GHz Wifi sind es ca. 50 Mbit/s.

      Ich kann also eine klare Kaufempfehlung geben wenn es um den Betrieb mit OpenWrt geht.

      C'è un solo motivo per cui ho preso questo router: openwrt. Questo è probabilmente il miglior router su cui openwrt può girare al momento. Infatti, moltissimi router non possono usare i driver closed source dei produttori. Questo router monta un mt7622 che è uno dei pochissimi chipset per i quali siano disponibili driver open source. Quindi openwrt funziona al massimo delle proprie possibilità. Raggiungo velocità intorno ai 900 Mbps, con connessione PPPoE e con un semplice QoS (che però mi azzera il bufferbloat). Tutto con openwrt 22.03.2 ufficiale. Avevo dei dubbi prima di prenderlo sulla sua capacità di reggere una connessione gigabit con PPPoE, per non parlare del QoS. Oltre le aspettative, per me una scelta quasi obbligata per chi voglia usare openwrt. Non ho provato il WiFi (lo uso solo come router).
