Über den Autor und weitere Mitwirkende

Todd Kelsey, Ph.D., is a Chicago-based tech professional, author, and educator. He has appeared on television as a featured expert and has authored books on topics such as social networking, Facebook advertising, and Google AdWords. He has taught at Chicago area institutions including National Louis University, Westwood College, College of DuPage, and Wheaton College, and he has worked at companies such as McDonald's Corporation and United Airlines, in addition to nonprofit organizations such as La Leche League and the Cradle Foundation. He is the author of Drupal 7 Primer and Getting Started with WordPress. This manual covers all the important, nitty-gritty details about the Basecamp program, as well as additional ideas for keeping track of your life. For those who like to like to read everything they can before jumping into a new endeavor, or who might have overlooked some properties after jumping in, this book is what you need. While the author's anecdotes and side comments can be distracting, he works to make the learning process as fun as possible, and you will ultimately come away with new insight into Basecamp and time management in general.

This is a very versatile reference work. It is organized sequentially (e.g., intro to the software, a chapter each for different features, then integration with other programs), yet also built so one can go directly to a chapter about a particular feature without necessarily feeling lost. Each chapter also has a very helpful introduction, explaining what the following pages will cover. The most important part? Kelsey takes the time to explain why certain features (and indeed the program as a whole) are valuable for various needs.

Not being a detail person, this book is likely to save my bacon. Love the introductory "relevancy" paragraphs, the reflection questions, and "sum-it-all-up" chapter conclusions. One of the best project management books I've ever read.
