    Limited Transparent Red Vinyl EP

    Jess and the Ancient Ones: Astral Sabbat EP Svart Records' 15th Anniversary Edition Jess and the Ancient Ones released a three-song EP titled Astral Sabbat on 22 February

    2012, recorded with the Swedish sonic wizard Tore Stjerna of Necromorbus Studio in their hometown Kuopio. Astral Sabbat pushed forward the boundaries of the sound established on their first full-length and forging their own path, as personified by the rather unusual choice of cover song Long and Lonesome Road, originally written and recorded by the Dutch rock outfit Shocking Blue, known for their mega-hit Venus.

    “We wanted to give these works a space entirely their own, so that listeners can focus on them completely. For this purpose, we considered an EP the perfect means. Regarding the surprising choice of cover, I had heard the song at a very young age. And now, after travelling many roads, it returned to me. It is a timeless song and I hope someone discovers Shocking Blue through us”, revealed guitarist Thomas Corpse more than 10 years ago.

    Astral Sabbat proved that Jess and The Ancient Ones were already back then way beyond all those occult, prog or retro-rock tags and playing a game of their own. Svart Records will release limited 12” colored edition of Jess and The Ancient Ones mini-LP Astral Sabbath on 25th of October 2024.

      lassen hier grüßen. das ist gut so und als erstes kam mir iron butterfly in den sinn. leider ist es nur eine ep.
      die drei stücke sind hammer, auch wenn das hauptstück natürlich das 14 minütige more than living ist. a real good journey
      to old sound.

      Exciting new artist! This is a 3 song disc that contains the early favorite song "Astral Sabbat".

      I saw this band "Live" as the opening act for King Diamond on October 22nd 2014 in St.Louis. Very unique sound, vision and message. I also met 3 members of this band after the show and got some autographs. Told them "Don't Stop". I really enjoy their music and look forward to following everything they do.

      Jess has a wonderful voice! This is a really cool band that I have become hooked on since discovering.

      Strong recommendation to check them out! One other unique part of this band to me is how the more I listen to them, the more I respect them and feel a closer connection the more I hear them. AWESOME :)

      this product assumes the pretense of a natural product but contains artificial fragrance which is known to be an allergin. i only found this information by researching online after receiving the product and noticing my typical reaction to artificial fragrance. Seller should make a better effort to alert customers.
