super, dass es die comics hier gibt, da die originalen comics eigentlich nur auf den konzerten gibt (die da wesentlich teurer sind)... weiter so...

5.0 von 5 Sternen Impressive second half to the "2nd Chapter" 21. Januar 2010
Von Lucas Diego - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format: Taschenbuch
Most anyone looking this up knows that the Amory Wars is the graphic representation of the Coheed and Cambria albums, but for those that stumble onto this then that is exactly what they are. Anyone who has followed the band's music knows that the songs can be very cryptic, and as the frontman Claudio Sanchez has said, it is partially done on purpose so a wider audience can relate to the lyrics. That said, the albums are based around a science-fiction story conceived by Sanchez and now are being presented in a graphic medium and given a literal look at each songs' meaning.

I did enjoy the first book in the re-vamp (there were previous attempts at telling the story through comics books), though I felt the art and storytelling was a lot more solid in this one. The artist, Gabriel Guzman, has a consistent and appealing style and the various cover arts from Tony Moore are very well done. The colors are more vibrant and have more depth to them and all in all, you may not be looking at oil paintings but you know are you are reading a professionally done comic.

I also think Claudio's writing in this half has improved. He tells a dark story from the beginning and though it might be because I've been following and attempting to decipher the story for a while, I understood the events in this second book easier than the first. Rest assured, I do believe this is a story for the fans of the band but it is easier to follow, and it's a really cool feeling recognizing the quotes and other nods to the songs and realizing what they meant.

I would recommend this and the first graphic novel to any fans of the band (who are just awesome, by the way, and this is coming from someone who does not like much modern rock. I love the fact that there's a prog-rock band doing concept albums and they have the musical talent to back it up), if just to fully understand the song's meaning. I would even recommend this to fans of the medium who may be interested in a sci-fi/fantasy, though picking up the first book is essential and getting your hands on the Amory Wars Sketchbook for more background information does not hurt, either.

I'm looking forward to future graphic novels in the series. There are three albums/chapters left to be done (Second Stage Turbine Blade is the second chapter in the 'Amory Wars' story, actually, though it was the band's first major album), not including the upcoming prequel, which I understand will presented as both the album and a traditional novel.

5.0 von 5 Sternen Even Better than Volume 1 19. Januar 2010
Von AZ Skater - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format: Taschenbuch
I was very impressed with Volume 1 and Volume 2 is even better!

In Volume 2 the story starts to unfold and get moving where Volume 1 was mostly just setting up the story. If you're a big fan of Coheed and Cambria, The Prize Fighter Inferno, or The Amory Wars Volume 1 you YOU WILL LOVE The Amory Wars Volume 2.

The only negative is that we will have to wait a long time at this rate for them to finish the story.
4.0 von 5 Sternen Sweet freaking comic book 15. Juli 2010
Von Joey Sixx - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format: Taschenbuch Verifizierter Kauf
After having read The Year of the Black Rainbow, it was nice to see a visual representation of what was going on. Nicely drawn comic cells but I would've liked the book to have been longer. Still, it was a very good comic book.
As for the seller, I would've expected to receive an out of print book shipped in more protective packaging but it had been sent to me in in a bag type envelope without any bubble paper or anything else to cushion the out of print, semi-rare, paper-back book. So, the product I had bought as "new" could barely be rated as fair upon receipt.
Completely satisfied with the book, not satisfied with the seller.
5.0 von 5 Sternen SSTB Vol II Delivers 13. Januar 2011
Von Jacob Hirschman - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format: Taschenbuch
Reading Second Stage Volume II was a breath of fresh air after the less focused volume one. SSTB Vol II has much more focused writing, and the story is easy to follow and engaging. It also recaps and clears up a lot of important plot points from Vol I. The biggest improvement in Vol II however is the artwork. While the artowork in Vol I was good, it was a little bland, and lacked detail. In Vol II we get imaginitave worlds, characters, and creatures presented in glorious detail. I would highly recomond this book to any fan of the band Coheed & Cambria, or comic books in general.
5.0 von 5 Sternen Great Book 22. November 2010
Von Johan - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format: Taschenbuch Verifizierter Kauf
I enjoyed reading this book immensely. I had read the previous volume, but I must say I enjoyed the art and storyline of this one far more. I can also say that the plotline made much more sense to me, perhaps because I had already been introduced to all the characters. I highly recommend this book for anyone who's really into Coheed and Cambria, you'll start to understand the music so much better once you understand the storyline of the fictional universe within which the events depicted in the songs take place
