That being said, it's just frightening at this point in my life. It basically recommends cutting off ties with anyone around you, since they're likely to distract you from your own personal will and truth. I came away from reading this feeling worse about myself, and wondering if I was living the right life. I guess that's the point, to get you to question this stuff. But it really just made me feel like I was doing it all wrong.
There isn't any advice about finding your true purpose - instead, it just tells you all the way that the world and people around you can distract you from your true will and true self. Kind of depressing - and unless I'm willing to detach from everyone for a year to cut off ties and find my own truth, then there isn't anything tangible to follow in this book. I think it was well-meaning, but it truly did make me feel despondent about everything, and feel like everyone around me is bad for my life path and my own will.
To the one reviewer who left a two star and felt scared by it, I would suggest they just aren't necessarily looking to 'wake up' yet. 'Waking up' can be a somewhat de-humanizing process, since to begin with you're not really a human. Enjoy the human life stories while you do, come back to things like this when you feel like the stories just aren't enough anymore.
