EEPROM 25CXX / 24CXX + CH341A 24 25 Serie EEPROM Flash BIOS USB Programmer funktioniert !

Ich habe mir einige YouTube Videos angesehen. Einige Videos hatten Links, die direkt zur Software führen.

Hatte riesen bammel davor, dass es mich überfordern könnte , war aber nicht der Fall. Es war eigentlich einfach & ich bin ein wenig Stolz auf mich, dass es geklappt hat !

!!! ACHTUNG - VORSICHT - GEFAHR- DER FALSCH VERPOLUNG GEGEBEN !!!

Schaut auf den Chip mit Taschenlampe & Lupe ob ihr eine Markierung am Chip oben drauf oder seitlich in der Nähe an dem Lötfuß finden könnt. Da muss am Ende die Klammer mit dem roten Draht-Kabel hin !

In der Tat macht die Klammer nicht auf anhieb was sie soll, nämlich sich mit dem Chip zu verbinden !
Es brauch einige feine sensible Versuche, dass das Programm den Chip findet und bearbeiten kann, liegt an der Klammer die auf den Chip richtig draufgebracht werden muss !

Der USB ADAPTER die Buchse (Weiblich) die Orbital zu sehen ist, ist in 2 Lager unterteilt, einmal Linke Hälfte, einmal Rechte Hälfte.

Die Stecker der 2 mini Platinen kommen auf die Linke Seite der Hälfte des Orbital zu sehenden Feldes !

Ich erzähle hier nur wie es bei mir war.
Es ist keine Anleitung für Andere. Falls es jemand macht will, tut er es auf eigene Verantwortung & Risiko.

Risiko lol, das Brett (Board) ist eh hinüber ☺ was für ein Risiko ☺?

Da das Risiko besteht, dass man mit der Verpolung den Chip kurzschließt und damit zerstört !

!!! ACHTUNG - VORSICHT - GEFAHR- DER FALSCH VERPOLUNG GEGEBEN !!!

Denn dann ist das Brett wirklich hinüber. Naja nicht ganz. Ihr könnt euch dann einen Chip kaufen, den Alten rauslöten & den Neuen anlöten & hoffen, dass das Brett wieder funtz ☺ !

Klemme verhindert Nutzung

Ich habe das Produkt heute erhalten. Verarbeitung scheint soweit OK zu sein, allerdings bring das alles nix, wenn die SOP8 Klemme einfach keinen vollständigen Kontakt herstellen kann. Ich habe das Ganze mal durchgemessen und bei jedem Versucht haben mindestens 3 der Pins keinen Kontakt mit der Klemme. Da ich das Set ausschließlich für verlötete EEPROMs nutzen will, kann ich daher nicht einmal mit Sicherheit sagen, ob alles weitere funktionsfähig ist.

Des weiteren sind weder Anleitung noch Treiber beigelegt (nicht einmal eine Hilfe wo die Treiber zu finden sind). Auf der Webseite wird man zwar fündig, aber die Anleitung ist Mangelhaft und die Software (1.27) liegt in einer veralteten Version vor (Ich konnte auch schon 1.29 finden, die eine bessere Fehlermeldung abgibt).

Ich muss jetzt warten bis ein besser geformter Clip aus China kommt, um die Funktion bestätigen zu können (am beiliegenden Clip habe ich schon gebastelt was aber auch nichts geholfen hat).

Funktioniert (Coreboot auf Thinkpad X230)

Ich habe mir den EEPROM Programmer gekauft, um Coreboot auf ein Thinkpad X230 zu flashen. Letztendlich hat das auch funktioniert (eine gute Anleitung findet man auf Github, wenn man nach Skulls und X230 in einer Suchmaschine sucht).

Vorsicht ist jedoch angebracht, da der Programmer nur über die Spannungsversorgung 3,3V liefert, die Steuersignale haben eine Spannung von 5V. Das kann das X230-Mainboard/die BIOS-Chips beschädigen. Man findet im Internet Anleitungen, wie man den Programmer umlöten kann, so dass überall 3,3V rausfallen. Ich habe darauf verzichtet und glücklicherweise hat es auch so geklappt. Empfehlen kann ich es aber nicht...

Ein "must have" um kleine Probleme, die beim Updaten von Firmware Images auf Mainboards passieren können schnell und lautlos auszubügeln.

Klar, ein BIOS könnte man auch gegen Gebühr beim Hersteller bestellen - nur dauert das oft und mit diesem Artikel ist man auch wenn nicht täglich geübt in gut 15 Minuten mit dem Problem durch. Der Rechner bootet wieder und gut ists.

Aber Achtung - das Teil ist nichts für den totalen Laien. Bitte - holt euch HIlfe von Leuten die sich mit der Technik ein bisschen auskennen! Ohne lesen und einarbeiten ins Thema geht es nicht! Nur wer technisches Wissen hat, mit Bauteilnummern umgehen kann und grundsätzlich der englischen Sprache mächtig ist, der sollte da schnell mit klarkommen.

Ich bin jedenfalls damit zu Frieden und total Happy.

Langsam, aber absolut brauchbar

Ich habe den Artikel ehrlich gesagt nur wegen der Klammer gekauft. Aus lauter Ungeduld hatte ich mein Problem schon per angelöteten Käbelchen, einem RaspberryPi und der Software "flashrom" (ein Universal-Linux-Programmer) behoben.

Aus Interesse wollte ich auch den CH341A ausprobieren -- mit der Klammer. Funktioniert wunderbar, allerdings erstaunlich langsam. Mit dem RaspberryPi konnte ich mittels des nativen SPI Interfaces deutlich schneller mit dem Chip sprechen. Und auch einstellbar schnell. Beim CH341A habe ich keine Geschwindigkeitseinstellung machen können.

Für den privaten Kontext und vor allem für das kleine Geld finde ich das Produkt absolut akzeptabel, aber im beruflichen Kontext würde ich auf bessere Leistung und eine bessere Klammer bestehen.

Das der Programmer anders als die Beschreibung sagt nur 5v und keine 3.3v kann war bekannt (Hier gibt es Anleitungen zum umlöten im Netz)
Allerdings ist die Test-Clip absoluter Müll, es war möglich damit auf einem x230 beide Chips auszulesen. Aber als es ans schreiben gehen sollte, war das billig Plastik schon so abgenutzt das die Klemme _immer_ wieder abgesprungen ist. Realistisch kann man den Clip wohl 2 bis max. 5 mal irgendwo befestigen bis das Plastik durch ist. Werde jetzt doch den deutlich teureren "Ponoma 5250 Test Clip" importieren.

Whiie its clear that not everyone has had good experience with this, judging by the other reviews, my own experience was excellent.
So first off, ignore the company KeeYees - these are mass produced units and KeeYees is just sticking their brand on them, importing them to the EU and tripling the price you'd pay if you ordered from China directly. That said, the extra £10 is well worth it IMO because it saved me having to wait several weeks to fix my motherboard.
There are numerous YouTube videos on how to use this device, but I should make it clear that all the software needed is free and opensource for Windows and Linux. In Windows it was easy enough using ASprogrammer on Windows - search for it on Github.
Bottom line, my Gigabyte board was bricked, despite repeatedly flashing from the back up BIOS, and now it isn't.
I could deduct stars for lots of reasons from the company KeeYees, but that would be unfair since they don't make this thing anyway. The five stars is because a dead motherboard is now fully functional, three days after it broke.

Requires perseverance

I bought this to repair a laptop that no longer booted. I know a little about pc repairs but this was one of the most complicated things I have done.

First off, there are no instructions with the product, and I could find no trace of the KeeYees website. This meant I had to find the right driver and programming software for myself.

I basically tried various drivers until something worked. In terms of programmer I used Neoprogrammer, which ultimately did the job.

Like others, one of the real challenges is getting the clip correctly attached to the BIOS chip. This was ok at first but the plastic tip rapidly deteriorated until the clip was constantly springing off the chip. I ended up removing the spring mechanism and trying to weigh down the clip to make contact.

After two sessions of learning the process bit by bit, I managed to write the Bios to my chip (which takes about 15 - 20 minutes depending on the file size) and to my huge surprise the laptop booted and has been stable since.

Overall, it took a lot of perseverance but I am extremely happy to have saved a very useful laptop for only £12. So minus 2 stars for the total lack of support and poor build quality but it’s worth 3 stars for ultimately doing the job.

EDIT: I have since seen that the product description points you to a GitHub address to download the manual and software. I wish this had been made a lot clearer!

I purchased this programmer for a laptop BIOS modification - added NVMe support to an AMI UEFI BIOS (Asus ROG G751JY).
It worked exactly as expected: allowed successfully read and flash BIOS ROMs directly to the chip – no issues whatsoever.
· Unfortunately, I can't say anything about the SOIC8 clip because I didn’t use it - I replaced it with a Pomona 5250.

👉 I've had this programmer for almost 5 months and haven't had problems with it yet.
Surprisingly sturdy for an inexpensive EEPROM programmer.

Highly recommended!

Damages Your EEPROM.

Already owning exactly the same product and knowing how to use the product correctly, I connected it to a W25Q64BV EEPROM to program it. It showed different results everytime I read the data. I tried my old kit and the EEPROM would no longer read properly. I tried an EEPROM I knew worked properly with my old kit and all worked fine. I then connected the new one to the working EEPROM ensuring all the settings and pins were the same, on 'reading' the EEPROM it corrupted the data.

Don't trust this product with your electronics.
