But there are two reasons why I don't give five stars.
* Bluetooth only works if the WiFi Aerial is attached to the motherboard
* Gigabyte software is very bad. Specially the RGB control software "Fusion 2.0". I only detects the LEDs in the motherboard. I does not detect my Corsair RAM or my NZXT Kraken
Bin bisher total zufrieden endlich läuft mein System smooth :).
The practice of shipping outdated BIOS versions, known not to be compatible with the latest generation of processors and WITH MAJOR SECURITY VULNERABILITIES is nothing less than a scam.
Gigabyte should definitely reconsider their business practices. Took me 20 EUR, 5hours, and a trip to a local PC store to get the BIOS updated. For the life of me, I could not get the Q-Flash update to work and my CPU did not even allow a boot to BIOS (5600G AMD).
Followed the instructions and updated the motherboard without the CPU with Q-Flash. The update took around 7 minutes. No problem.
Wish it had more USB ports on the rear. My opencase doesn't have front USB inputs.
However other brands don't offer better...

Hundreds of users having issues with ethernet freezing their network switch until you
You reboot the switch or unlplug the device from the router.
This is a widespread issue and is not isolated to one brand of motherboards. Even pcie ethernet cards with this realtek 8125 have this issue.
No motherboard vendor has acknowledged this fault and it has been over a month since widespread reports.
Search realtek 8125 ethernet issues for bigger picture or just gigabyte b550i ethernet freezes on Google. There's multiple threads on reddit r/gigabyte and r/amd regarding this.
It's worth noting that I had to update the motherboard's firmware/BIOS to a newer version for a Ryzen 5600x. This worked even though the system wouldn't boot with the CPU installed. I could still prepare a USB thumb drive with the update files, plug it into the appriopriate USB port, boot the BIOS, and start Q-Flash with the newer CPU installed.
After that update everything went flawlessly. PBO2 is easy enough to activate with this board, the power delivery seems rock solid, it doesn't have issues with a slight undervolt, and remains stable. The built-in Wi-Fi, Ethernet port, and Bluetooth all worked perfectly (your mileage may vary; update the BIOS) and the on-board RGB is a nice and subtle touch. That said, it's not possible to adjust the RGB lightning in the BIOS beyond turning it on or off, and I'm not a fan of installing Gigabyte's software for this sole RGB light in my build.
The fan headers are positioned perfectly in opposing spots on the board. One of them needs an adaptor that's included in the box. But, it does feature two ports, which would be unseen on budget boards. Also, the board having two M.2 NVMe ports is welcome, although one is only capable of PCIe 3.0 speeds (which will be fine even for years to come, given that the other does support PCIe 4.0). The front port with PCIe 4.0 also comes with a fiddly but welcome heatsink.
Even with an AIO, in a miniITX build I'd be careful with this board to make sure that there's enough airflow running over the board itself. While the temperature of a Ryzen 5xxx processor is easy enough to control, especially with PBO 2, the power delivery parts and the M.2 area do heat up and can impact your CPU's performance. This can be solved with minimal airflow on the board, which is notable since if you're using an AIO you may not think of running another fan that provides some airflow for the board itself.
There is a nut/spacer that has to be removed to allow the fitting of the NVME drive. I have various socket sets and an iFixit tool set...nothing was the required size. I was on the brink of using pliers, never a good idea, when I remembered seeing a little socket in the packaging of an old Gigabyte X470 motherboard I own. Turns out it's exactly what's required...it's a socket with a Phillips head which allows you to unscrew the nut/spacer. Why on earth is the same 1 cent tool not included with this motherboard.
Just the 1 star off for what is actually a great motherboard.
I have the B450 version of this board also and the B550 board is considerably better spec'ed and has many premium features. Not only does it have onboard LED's as you'd come to expect, but the VRM's are much better and a substantial H/Sink design is found on the B550. Not only this, the rear of the motherboard has a metal frame to sink more heat away.
This B550 its board has the I/O shield built into the motherboard which is welcome for installation, and has a zero CPU BIOS flash capability. If the BIOS is trashed/corrupt beyond the 'Reset CMOS' or you need the latest BIOS for say your new CPU then this will be invaluable.
Another great additional is that this motherboard supports 2 NVMe SSD drives, one at the rear (Gen3) and another at the top (Gen4). This is additional to the 4 SATA ports available onboard. The only two possible downside are:
1) the lack of the new USB 3.2 header for USB-C based cases, but a cheap adapter can be bought to allow a physical connection, but obviously not using the 3.2 functions, only USB 3 functions will be available.
2) LED lights control is no longer in the BIOS menu's but via the LED controller apps. I used the Gigiabyte one in Windows and it does the job.
The BIOS seems well laid out for a B550. Generally based on enthusiasts web pages this motherboard is in high regard in terms of features, quality, and value for money. This also has a magnetic 'shark fin' style wifi antenna rather the previous screw on mini antennas as used on their B450 kit.
All in all a great motherboard for my R9 3900x with my existing 3200MHz 32GB RAM kit for my compute tasks.
