Meine Eindrücke nach fast einem halben Jahr mit dem "Terminator-Arm" :

- brachiale Optik, sieht schon sehr massiv aus
- der Optik entsprechende, tolle Verarbeitung
- alles aus massivem, poliertem Aluminium
- auch für meinen 34 Zoll 21:9 Screen ausreichend stark
- praktische Kabelführung
- vielseitige Einstellmöglichkeiten

Ein einziger Punkt gefällt mir nicht so gut:
Poliertes Alu ist eben ziemlich pflegeaufwändig, was Fingertapper angeht.

Alles in allem 5 von 5 Sternen wert, für das Geld bekommt man eine solide Monitorhalterung. Perfekt, wenn man auf Ergonomie am Schreibtisch achtet. :)

This is a high quality arm that can support larger displays, has grommet or pinch fixing components included in the box, and can be adjusted to sit or stand configuration effortlessly.
I like:
-the arm is well designed, uses high quality materials and looks very nice
-has grommet or normal pincher attachment included in the box
-the rotation mode can be disabled for ultra wide screens
- has a high quality tension adjustment mechanism so that you can adjust the arm according to the monitor weight
- since new displays are much lighter, it can support really large ones (pictures is a dell ux34"
I don't like
-the cable management lets cables be seen. I guess it is a design choice to give a "robotic" look, but I prefer the cables to be hidden
- when in super short mode, the right leaned arm makes the display jerk a bit horizontally so that you can not make it purely horizontal to the table. This does not happen in right super short or any other setting. I guess this is due to display weight being uneven creating a large torque on the mount.
-the vesa mount is not covered and exposed. Could've been nicer if they offered a panel to conceal it.

Der Bücherstapel unter Monitor ist endlich weg

Der Bücherstapel unterm Monitor sollte weg, und so kam ich dazu, einen Monitorarm zu bestellen. Den MX hatte ich bereits bei einem Kollegen im Büro gesehen, und da mir sein Aussehen weniger "technisch" erscheint als das des LX, und er in dem Moment als "Amazon Warehouse Deal" gebraucht zu haben war, habe ich einfach zugeschlagen.

Der Arm war bei der Lieferung am nächsten Tag natürlich erwartungsgemäß ohne erkennbare Gebrauchsspuren. Für seine Montage habe ich die Variante mit einer 8mm-Bohrung in der Schreibtischplatte gewählt. Da der Fuß damit noch nicht stabil genug gegen versehentliches Verdrehen war, habe ich zusätzlich eine kurze Spax-Schraube in die Schreibtischplatte gedreht, die von unten in eine der Vertiefungen des Fußes ragt. Damit ist die Befestigung zu 110% stabil.

Das Montieren des Monitors mit den Rändelschrauben hat sehr gut geklappt, genau wie das Verlegen der Kabel im bzw. am Arm entlang, und das Einstellen des Federdrucks. Hier wäre anzumerken, dass der Arm mit meinem sehr leichten 24" LED-Monitor (5kg) extrem leichtes Spiel hat und ich die Feder der Höhenverstellung sehr weit lockern musste, damit der Monitor sich nicht von selbst nach oben arbeitet. Sehr gut gefällt mir, dass man die Pivot-Funktion per Schraube durch die VESA-Platte außer Betrieb setzen kann, so dass man nicht dauernd einen schwankenden Monitor in der Hand hat.

Wie bereits von einem anderen Rezensenten angemerkt, kann der Mittelpunkt der VESA-Platte maximal 33cm über die Schreibtischkante gehoben werden. Das habe ich leider erst nach dem Bestellen gesehen. Glücklicherweise hat mein Monitor zwei übereinander liegende 10x10 VESA-Mounts, so dass ich den unteren Mount wählen und den Arm behalten konnte. Es empfiehlt sich, vor der Bestellung genau die "Dimensionalen Abbildungen" der beiden Modelle auf der Homepage des Herstellers Ergotron zu vergleichen. Damit sollte sich recht genau erkennen lassen, ob der Arm die gewünschte Bewegungsfreiheit hat.

Ich bin gespannt, ob es sich um eine Anschaffung fürs Leben handelt, oder ob irgendwann, was ich mir aber nur schwer vorstellen kann, eine Monitor-Innovation kommt, die den Arm obsolet macht. Weil der Arm super aussieht, super funktioniert, der Preis über die Lebensdauer mehrerer Monitore hinweg gerechnet vollkommen egal ist, und er sich unter Zugabe von etwas handwerklichem Geschick wirklich bombenfest ohne sichtbare Schrauben montieren lässt, gibt's hier die 5 Sterne.

Ein wunderbares Biest aus Metall - hält einen iMac 2010

Manchmal gibt es Produkte, die einen schon beim Auspacken erstaunen. Als ich den Monitorarm zum ersten Mal in der Hand hielt war mein erster Gedanke: Mensch, das ist doch der Arm des Terminators. :) So unzerstörbar, fantastisch verarbeitet und wuchtig wirkt der MX Desk Mount LCD ARM. Das ganze Produkt vermittelt einen hochwertigen Eindruck, ein Unterschied wie Tag und Nacht zu anderen Monitorhalterungen. Hier sieht man sofort, warum das Ding so viel mehr kostet als die Konkurrenz. Die Anleitung ist zwar nur auf Englisch, sollte aber keine Probleme bereiten. Erstaunt war ich auch über die Vielzahl an Schrauben und deren Verpackung. Genaue Bezeichnungen und strikte Trennung sieht man auch nicht alle Tage. Generell war mir sofort klar: Hier hat sich der Hersteller wirklich Gedanken gemacht. Es liegen sogar Kabelbinder anbei um diese ordentlich am großen Kabelkanal(ich habe 5 Kabel drin, es hätten noch mehr reingepasst) zu befestigen.

Die Halterung hält auch problemlos einen iMac 2010, der ohne Standfuß circa 11-12 Kilo auf die Waage bringt. Dafür verantwortlich ist der einstellbare Widerstand. Ich habe den Arm seitlich am Schreibtisch montiert, damit der Arm nicht zu sehr über Schreibtisch hineinragt.

Fazit: Ich schreibe nicht viele Rezensionen, aber dieses Produkt hat diese Zeilen verdient. :)

Edles und massives Teil

Nach dem Lesen der Rezensionen habe ich mich zum Kauf dieses Produktes entschieden und kann bestätigen, der ist Arm excellent dazu geeignet, ein 27" Cinema-Display von Apple zu tragen. Es handelt sich um eine stabile und trotzdem optisch sehr gut zu Apple-Produkten passende Lösung. Die Montage ist gut beschrieben, das notwendige Werkzeug gehört zum Lieferumfang. Ein Freund von mir hat das Teil an meinem Schreibtisch gesehen und wird es wohl ebenfalls ordern.

This mount is absolutely fantastic.

I have tried multiple mounts to hold this monitor. It is very heavy and often sags. This arm is PERFECT. It is everything I was looking for in a monitor arm.

It can be seen as pricey, but holding up a £1000 screen, it's worth it.

The materials feel incredibly sturdy and well made. You can adjust how easily you can swivel the monitor arm.

It looks great on the desk.

Very versatile positioning, also keeps the monitor firmly in position.

Easy to install.

Quality ...you get what you pay for.

If only everything was as well made as this! I bought two... for a 27" iMac, and a 24" NTC monitor.
This is robust quality design. You get what you pay for, and these mounts do what they are meant to at a decent price - elegantly and effortlessly.
They give the reassuring feeling that your equipment is in safe hands... that these products are actually built to last.
In all it takes maybe 20 minutes to assemble these and mount your computer / monitor ...including the few minutes to adjust the tension correctly as described in the brief install guides.
Of course with the heaviest items you should expect some reasonable resistance in the lowest weight-bearing joint of the desk mount when or if you have to swivel your gear through 180 degrees, which is what I think the reviewer below is referring to.
But at the 13.5kg max weight for this product, extended upon a single point of attachment to the desk, the law of gravity makes itself known! So you just need to hold the Ergotrons second level section when moving it as well as the computer/monitor to facilitate easy manipulation.
A 27" iMac weighs 13.5kg ... and it floats on these things: up, tilting downwards (to a degree), in landscape or portrait orientation, or even facing the ceiling. But remember - as advertised - the maximum height adjustment up or down is 5"
There's a serious guarantee on them, and the UK distributor shipped them to me next day as a courtesy and at no cost.
What's not to like?

Go for one with 3 joints

Looks great and works very well. Very versatile and easy to use.
However I think I should have gone for the model with 3 joints as the up and down movement is quite limited, if you push it all the way away from you
I expected to need my screen quite far forward to accommodate the arm but was pleasantly surprised.
cable management is good but a bit fidly, but once you have it set up it works very well.

As soon as I opened the box I was impressed by the quality of this product it comes neatly packaged with all the parts in its own section of the packaging. It comes with a hex tool, but you will need a crosshead screwdriver of your own. It also has a nice clear instruction booklet which I found very easy to follow. I managed to put this together and mount my 24" (on my own) in about 30mins. I was expecting it to be fiddly and take a long time as I work with several makes of arms at work and it "always" takes two of us to mount a monitor, but this was a breeze to setup.

This arms max capacity is 30" or 13.6Kg, my 24" monitor is already 10Kg so its worth checking the weight of your intended screen rather than its size.

If your intended monitor weighs less than 9.1Kg you can save some money by going for the cheaper LX model.

I got my MX arm for £70 inc vat, although the price has since risen I think it is still worth it. This is pure quality! Sure you pay three or four times the price of a cheap arm, but you do actually get three of four times the build quality.

If you are currently trying to choose the right arm for your monitor, don't be tempted by arms that have no joint in the main span. You will find it very difficult to position the arm just how you want it on your desk unless you shell out for a better quality arm with a second joint (splitting the arm in two) such as the Ergotron range.

I recommend that interested buyers take a look at the animation of the arms motion on the Ergoton website to see why this arm is so great.
