French student looking for the CD-rom version of the book.
Hello, I study American civilization & I think this book is really useful. I've heard about a CD-rom version of this book, but I haven't been able to find it anywhere. Besides, I live in France & thus I can't go "shopping" in American bookstores to try to find it... Have you heard about it ? Can you help me ? Thanks a lot.

Very Difficult To Read!
While using this book in American History I found that is contained a lot of information(some that I really did not want to know.) The chapters are very long and tedious. It does not go in chronological order but rather spends about four chapters going over the different aspects of a certain time period in American History.

Hi!
I study English and History to become a teacher in Germany. I bought this book for preparing my final in American Studies. It contains a lot of detailed information and is very helpful for self studies. I can really recommend this book to everyone who's interested in American history or rather needs detailed and well-founded information.

Engaging history; comes alive!, 21. Dezember 1999
Our class utilized this book in our AP History class during my junior year in high school. Back then it seemed like a big load to tow, but it was well woth the effort. The detail put into this volume proves it to be an indisposible source for writing concise, intriguing essays: something that your AP graders will appreciate. I also recommend the accessory study guide which will provide you with chapter summaries, and many other study clues. I enjoyed this book so much that I am now purchasing a copy of my own to use throughout college. If you have ever felt as if history was just a matter of memorizing dates and names, then you will be blown away at what is in store for you in The Enduring Vision. American History has never seemed so alive.

Good information, difficult to study from, 17. Oktober 1999

I am currently using the Third Edition in my AP US History class. The book gives a lot of information but it can be too wordy to study from. I recommend United States History: Preparing for the Advanced Placement Examination, an Amsco publication as a good supplemental reading that is easy to study from and has practice test questions.

Confusing and excessive, 10. Oktober 1999
I am currently using this book in my AP history class and would not recommend it for any high school student. The text is wordy and confusing and often misleads the reader. Another problem is the fact that there is no glossary of terms, self-test questions, or chapter summaries. It is very hard to slog through and even harder to study from. Unfortunately, the Board of Education in my town has made this the required textbook of AP History students. I would not recommend it to anyone attempting to have a clear understanding of US history.
