Can't wait for the second book,
Rezension bezieht sich auf: GHOSTBOUND - Love is Stronger than Death (Taschenbuch)
There is a series of mysterious teenage murders in London, which keeps the Scotland Yard busy as well as the newspapers. Tabloit journalist Elizabeth gets the job to investigate those cases. In that course, she meets Detective Daniel Mason and gets to know him better, until they are attacked and Daniel gets killed right before her eyes. But that isn't the end of Daniel, because Elizabeth can see and hear him- as a ghost! They team up to search for Daniels murderers.
Ghostbound is a fascinating story about the love between a ghost and a human, mixed with a crime investigation, so that the book is not cheesy but thrilling. In fact, in this first book of the trilogy the murder hunt moves in the background because we meet the lovely characters and the love between Danny and Liz grows and they get to know each other as well as the reader gets to know them.
At this point I have to say, that I really, really love the characters. Danny and Liz are the perfect couple and I love it when they tease each other.
But it's not just the two of them, they got support from a man, who is not less loveable: Daniels Partner and friend, Tony Wood. So we got a witty team, which respects each other and together they search for Danny's murderers.
The story is almost perfect, but there are two little drawbacks for me: Liz believes too quickly that she speaks with a ghost. She doubts it just for a few paragraphs. Tony did too, but he has facts, which Liz doesn't have. This and the minimal crime investigations make me to deduct one star, but that doesn't really matter, because this story is more than that. It is funny, lovely, not cheesy (in fact, that's an important point for me!) and exciting.
