Rincewind rides again!,
Von Ein Kunde
Rezension bezieht sich auf: Eric (Discworld) (Taschenbuch)
Eric is an unusual boy. Instead of playing in the streets, harassing old ladies and the like, he sits in his room and tries to summon a demon. A demon who then will be under Eric's command and grant his every wish (you know, world domination, immortality and the like). But when reaching into hell, he pulls out Rincewind instead. And Rincewind, most inept wizard of all times, cannot even grant the wish of a tuna sandwich. Besides, he brings along his Luggage, homicidal rage on thousands of tiny legs. But now Eric is stuck with them. And so he travels with them through space and time, from the very beginning to the very end, and even into the depths of hell, where the new head-demon Astfgl is promoting a very progressive approach to torture and afterlife management...
"Eric" is a wild ride through the dimensions of the Discworld universe, which somehow sounds very familiar. Especially those parts of the book dealing with hell and the way Astfgl manages it are hilarious. And of course, the wizards of Unseen University provide some great laughs.
