Excellent harness, but be prepared for stupid questions from flight attendants,

As the only flight-authority approved harness out there, this was a natural choice for us when we wanted to fly with our 2.5-year old with more safety and didn't want to lug a car-seat with us in the aircraft. I had some worry that perhaps the aircraft might have recessed tray-tables in the seats, which, according to the instructions, requires the harness to go right over the tray table (thus preventing its use-- not a problem during take-off and landing, but definitely a problem at other times). In any case, the Airbus A320 we flew on had normal tray tables and it worked out fine.
The harness is actually easy to fit, and comfortable enough. If you have a really squirmy child, they can push themselves down in it a little, making it a lot less comfortable for themselves. Our boy didn't do that however.
The main problem we experienced was with the flight staff. Every flight we took with it, we encountered flight attendants who had never seen this type of harness before, and in several cases, told us to not fit it. One FA was downright rude, and told us that it was only a child, and they'd be safe enough in an adult seat if we crashed (!!). In every case, we insisted that we were going to use the harness, showed the label on it indicated FAA compliance, and in a couple of instances, it went as far as the purser before they left us in peace. Long story short: airlines don't care about the safety of their smaller travellers, and you have to be insistent.

we noticed tha when we had our then under 1 year old in a aircraft approved child restraint. the lack of amount of F's given by flight attendants about children and toddlers is really bad.
