Rezension bezieht sich auf: And Only to Deceive: A Novel of Suspense (Lady Emily) (Gebundene Ausgabe)
Emily marries Philip, Viscount Ashton, to escape her mother for the most part. Emily knows very little about Philip, except that he enjoys art and hunting. So when Emily finds herself a widow after a short six months of marriage, she is not emotionally crushed. When one of Philip's friends, Colin Hargreaves, tells her about Greece and the villa, Emily begins to search out more information on her deceased husband. This is how Emily gets interested in art, antiquities, and the like. With all her wealth, Emily can afford to absorb all the knowledge she wants about her new interests. While at the British Museum, Emily stumbles upon a ring of forgers. The members of the ring have been stealing items and leaving replicas. At the same time, Emily is being wooed not only by Colin, but also by Andrew Palmer. Even more intriguing is Andrew's evidence that Philip is still alive! ***** Do not judge this book only by its cover. True, it is set during the Regency era, but this story also involves a terrific mystery with lots of suspense. Author Tasha Alexander simply blew me away with her writing style and challenged my intellect as well. Highly recommended to anyone who enjoys mysteries, thrillers, or regency novels! ***** Reviewed by Detra Fitch of Huntress Reviews.
