Nick Hornby - Slam,
Rezension bezieht sich auf: Slam: Roman (Taschenbuch)
Nick Hornby' s new novel SLAM is about a 15 year old boy, called Sam, who becomes father. In his opinion the fact that his girlfriend is pregnant might be the end of his life. The story is told by Sam at the age of 18 and he refers back to the past. Nick Hornby managed it well to talk to the reader because he used official british teenage language. It' s a all-day-topic that can happen to everyone and so everybody is able to relate to the characters feelings.
We read the book in class and at first we weren' t sure how it is to talk about teenage-pregnancy at school. Sam was three times whizzed into the future and these parts confuse the reader. Sometimes the book was boring and childish.
But as a lecture in class is was a good choice, because Nick Hornby used a comprehensible language.
