Shaznay Lewis "Open",
Rezension bezieht sich auf: Open (Audio CD)
Firstly I have to say that I was really shocked that Shaznay's album debuted at #22 in the UK album charts, I thought the album would've gone top 10 at least...anyway, "Open" is an amazing album that I think any music lover should own, Shaznay was the talent behind All Saints and the other three can't deny it. The album does have a few tracks that have an All Saints feel to them but that's not a bad thing 'cause they did have some cool tracks, such as "Bootie Call" and "Black Coffee" (and also Melanie Blatt does the backing vocals to a couple of the tracks on here, her and Shaznay have remained good mates.) I think "Never Felt Like This Before" was the best choice for the first single, you've probably heard it already so you'll have you own opinion on that track already. "Dance" has a real 60's vibe to it, it'd go well in an Austin Powers movie!. "You" (the next single) is a lovely song with a nice melody to it that is very easy on the ears. "Mr Dawg" has a Jamaican/R'n'B sound that Shaznay masters very well. "Don't Know What To Say" is one of the best tracks on here, it's about Shaznay suffering from writers block and not knowing what to say! ha ha, it's a cool track. Each and every track on this album I'd give 5 out of 5 'cause Shaznay has worked really hard on this album and I strongly recommend that you, reading this, buys it.
