Sätze wie "[...] as it 12 13 was conceived and carried out [...]" sind keine Seltenheit.

...the teacher will appear. Napoleon Hill encourages readers to go through this book at least three times. Solid advice, for there is a lot to chew on here.
First, you must know what it is that you want. As the publisher notes, "The riches within your grasp cannot always be measured in money." Get a clear picture of your definition of riches. Second, you must keep an eye open for opportunity, and be prepared to apply this material to transform thought into rewards.
20 years of research are crammed into these pages. You will learn six steps to stimulate your subconscious mind to turn desire into gold, a five step self-confidence formula, the 31 major causes of failure, how to train yourself to be persistent, how to multiply your brain power through a Master Mind group, the power of sex transmutation, the secret of effective prayer, and how to identify and conquer fear.
Do not aim to understand and apply all of these concepts in one trip through the book. Some of the ideas presented here take a while to absorb. Treat it like a buffet, sampling some of the familiar and comfortable in the first wave, while trying some of the new ideas as well. Look to understand and apply more with each read. As you progress, you will see evidence of the truth behind each chapter.
Henry Ford said, "Thinking is the hardest work there is, which is the probable reason so few engage in it." This is not always an easy read. The concepts aren't trendy and easy to apply, so some are likely to dismiss them. But if you take the time to study this book, apply the principles and really start *thinking* right, you will grow rich.

Rezension bezieht sich auf: Think and Grow Rich (Gebundene Ausgabe)
When Napoleon Hill met Andrew Carnegie, Carnegie challenged Hill to interview the other most successful business leaders to find out what had helped them. Think of this as the equivalent of interviewing all of today's self-made billionaires. Carnegie offered no financial resources, but did help with making the introductions. Napoleon Hill was thus launched on the adventure of a lifetime that led to this intriguing book. In the book, Hill distills what each person had to say into simple concepts for setting goals, staying focused on them, and being persistent.

Napoleon Hill does not lay it all out in the way that modern "get rich now" writers do. He wants to leave room for you to discover what he has learned in the interviews for yourself. You will learn better and remember the lessons longer that way.

Some of the key points involve tales of overwhelming commitment to a goal. He then talks about the ways that people have reinforced these goals. The book deliberately leaves it unclear how much this goal setting and focus succeeds because of your concentration and how much because of human mental powers of some undefined sort. That source of success is beside the point, because if you do what Napoleon Hill suggests, I believe that you will have remarkable success in your life.

More recent research with young people shows that those who accomplish the most in their lives are those who have written goals at a fairly young age, and continue to focus on those goals. The point: Without goals, most people wander around aimlessly and accomplish less than their full potential. This does not mean that you have to work any harder or longer to be successful (although your commitment may encourage that). It does mean that your life will be much more purposeful.

I heartily subscribe to that belief. Whenever I have had firm goals, progress has been rapid. Exceed those goals, and progress stalls until new goals are set and pursued.

Another reason for reading this book is because you will meet many people in your life who will have read and used this process to accomplish a great deal in their own lives. Your ability to form valuable alliances with these people will be increased by your understanding of this book.

Unlike many positive thinking books, Think and Grow Rich is based on actual experiences of people whom many would like to emulate. The experiences that are shared here are all ones that you can follow. For example, if you would really like to have Bill Gates as your business partner without investing any money, you can see how people did this who wanted to have a partnership with Thomas Edison.

If nothing else, you will uncover whether or not you have the dedication it takes to create astonishing wealth through concentrating your mind on your goals. If relaxing on the beach sounds good to you as you think about creating wealth, this methodology is not for you.

If you find that you do not understand Napoleon Hill's message, feel free to read any of his later books. He lays out the key points in great detail in those.

From the title, you may think that this book will give you a very detailed get-rich process. It is just the opposite. You will still have a lot of work ahead of you to learn how to achieve your goals if you use the Think and Grow Rich principles. Your work will go better because it will be purposeful about something that you care passionately about.

May you find a path to progress that stimulates an overwhelming passion in others to work with you!

1.0 von 5 Sternen Don't waste your money. This book's a cheat., 15. Juli 1999
Von Ein Kunde
Rezension bezieht sich auf: Think and Grow Rich (Taschenbuch)
Mr. Hill knows how to be mysterious. (In fact, that's all he knows.) There's a secret, you know. A secret he heard as a young boy from an old millionaire. The secret's so powerful that it can't be written down black on white. It's hidden in the book - when you read it, it will (or won't) suddenly jump into your mind sometime. When this has happened, all the world lies at your feet. Wow!
You might wonder why Mr. Hill's parents named him Napoleon. After reading this book, you'll know it was his destiny. It would be a disappointment if a person who writes a book like Think And Grow Rich would be called anything else. (Well, maybe I'd accept Caesar.)
Oh... wanna know what the secret is? That's very simple: IN ORDER TO GET RICH, YOU HAVE TO BE OBSESSED WITH MONEY. That means that money must be the most important (no, sorry, the only important) thing in the world for you. You must be ready to give up anything else in order to get money.
Sounds imbecile? It should, because it's ridiculous to consider money as your life's ultimate goal, an end in itself. Money's just pieces of paper or numbers in a bank computer. It has no value in itself, it's only good as a means for getting things you need in order to be happy.
This book contains no concrete advice on making money. There are no mental techniques or exercises either. The book consists of success stories of people who made it by burning all bridges behind them. They risked everything they had in order to get rich and they succeeded. However, if you want to try the same, you should consider the possibility that you might become one of those people Mr. Hill's not writing about - the ones who also put everything on one card, but lost it all.
Even if you're absolutely desperate and have nothing to lose - there are still many realistic make-money books available. There is absolutely no reason why anybody should waste his money and time on Napoleon Hill.

The book itself is nice. However, this digital edition is full of scanning/conversion errors. Within two chapters it happened three times to me that I couldn't even understand the sense of a mistyped word in context so it definitely hasn't undergone any editorial review. Too bad for a nice book.

5.0 von 5 Sternen The Secret is only available to those who are ready, 13. August 1999

Rezension bezieht sich auf: Think and Grow Rich (Taschenbuch)
Napoleon Hill's book is the only tool that people can use to actually change their lives. However, he clearly states in the book that only a select few will ever understand the Secret that he has made mention of. Dr. Hill's hope was that these few people out of the millions that bought his book would make the world a better place.
Napoleon Hill placed a premium on Ideas, and as you know there are only a few original ideas each decade, and ever fewer men and women who know how to turn them into reality. Think about much suffering is still going on today around the world. Clearly, Dr. Hill's objective that people can rid themselves of poverty through Thinking has not been achieved yet.
There are still great strides required in Health Research, Computer Technology, Pollution Prevention, Political Science, etc... to make the world a more livable, safer place. Much of what is going on today in Universities and Corporations does not pass for true, groundbreaking thinking and as such does not fall under Dr. Hill's requirements for Think and Grow Rich.
As an example of people Dr. Hill would approve of, Issac Newton would come to mind as an original thinker. Similarly, Dr. James Naismith, who invented basketball. How about Dr. Salk, who invented to Polio vaccine. Then there are the people who ran with these ideas and created fortunes. Are there any people out there who are willing to go to this type of level to change their lives? If there are, this book is for you!

5.0 von 5 Sternen Great stories and exact steps, 16. Januar 2000
Rezension bezieht sich auf: Think and Grow Rich (Taschenbuch)
Zig Ziglar once said that motivation isn't permanent. He was right. Motivation will wear off just like spraying yourself with cologne will eventually wear off.
You need constant fixes of motivation. But, even that is not enough.
Using motivation without a goal and a plan is like spraying yourself with cologne without having a date. You won't accomplish too much.
Think of Hills "Think And Grow Rich" as your cologne, but as an added bonus, he's lined up a date for you also.
In the cologne (the book :-) Hill gives you the address of your date - and she's your perfect match. You just have to get out a map (Hill tells you where to get it) and get to her house.
The author is brilliant in the way he provides all of the information necessary to patterning out your goals with exact plans on how to achieve them.
You'll learn how to prepare a statement that describes exactly what you want to achieve along with two important factors - when and how.
If you read this book and don't avhieve what you want in life, it can be summed up in this short analogy...
Imagine going to Macy's and just buying any bottle of cologne at the counter. You may hate the smell when you get home. You like a mild cologne and this one is very strong. Get it?
If not, you REALLY need this book.
If you do get it, you are ready for this book.
Good luck to you regardless of what side of the fence you are on.

Written while he was on staff at the White House helping FDR keep the country from going insane during the depression. Hill had studied the most successful people in the country at the time: Thomas Edison, Henry Ford, William Wriggley, etc. He not only studied them, he LIVED with them, got to know them intimately. He was commissioned by the richest man in the world at that time, Andrew Carnegie, to study these successful people and figure out what they had in common, and to formulate it into principles anyone could use to become successful. And he did it. Think and Grow Rich is the culmination, and THOUSANDS of successful people owe their success to this book, and they're happy to tell you so. Some of the language is arcane, some of the explanations aren't the most scientific you've ever read, but the principles are sound. They work. It's a fun book to read, too.
Another fun book to read with substance AND references is "Self-Help Stuff That Works" by Adam Khan (Youme Works; ISBN: 0962465674).

5.0 von 5 Sternen Proof the Master Mind Alliance works!, 4. September 1999
Rezension bezieht sich auf: Think and Grow Rich (Taschenbuch)
I was introduced to Napoleon Hill's Master Mind Alliance in 1971 while working as a DJ at WWOK, in Miami, Florida which was one of the nation's first Contemporary Country Music stations. We played the hits and played a major role in crossing country music over to mainstream. As Loretta Lynn sang in one of her songs, we "were country before it was cool." The Program Director introduced all of us to the Master Mind Alliance principle from "THINK AND GROW RICH" in one of our first meetings and stated our definiteness of purpose was to be number one. This goal with a 5,000-watt station at 1260 on the dial was no small act. However, he emphasized that two or more minds in complete agreement on a purpose can achieve anything. We all bought in. Within the year, a new competitive FM station playing rock came into the market to knock off the established FM rock station. In THEIR sales kit, they included the latest ratings that posted their number three and four positions, which was a great move on the other rocker. However, in my daypart 10am to 3pm there was something significant. The number one station was WWOK. The little country station driven by the Master Mind Alliance. I have become a lifetime student of Napoleon Hill, W. Clement Stone and other authors that know the power of the statement, "Whatever the mind can conceive and believe it can achieve." Joe Nuckols
