Nice, round story, sure a bit predictable but well written with distinct MCs. We are back in gay-central Tucker Springs, this time it’s all about Nathan, Mike’s receptionist. The blurb says it all, it’s not a book that surprises you or rattles you, it’s like chocolate. Good but familiar. So reading it was fun and I enjoyed it.
As a long time horse owner I always have problems with books where horses play a major part. There is always something that is wrong in my humble opinion. Of course it happened here, too, but mostly they were minor details, like urging the horse to change gaits with the heels or tap of the lower legs or starting to work with a “cold” horse with a sitting trot, ending a lesson with a trot and then no cooling down period for the horse, leather straps from the stirrups under the knees (that would be a pain in the a** for the knees). We are not talking Western style here but Dressage. But on the other hand some parts were really well done, like taking care that the bite wouldn’t clink on the teeth or sitting in carefully.
Asides from my “horse issues” it’s the perfect books if you are looking for something enjoyable, funny, sexy but not overly stressful.
