"Waking Up Married" is a novel I would classify as average/okay. While it was entertaining and enjoyable enough to read, it was also quite cliché-ridden as it used many plot elements associated with waking-up-married-to-a-stranger-after-a-drunken-night stories.
I would have loved a slower pace and a better character development as I didn't find it too believable how the main characters would fall for each other after such a short amount of time - especially since the main character, Connor, is said to be someone who didn't believe in love and had actually never been in love before.
I like being able to relate to characters in the books I read, but couldn't really "feel" these characters, simply because they didn't feel like realistic characters.
The conflicts between Connor and Megan didn't seem too dramatic to me (although they should have been), but more like minor disagreements that were easily and quickly solved.
Megan actually falls in love with Connor and therefore doesn't want to stay in this business-like marriage any longer. Connor, who never felt much for any other person in his life, suddenly realizes that he's in love with her too, so when she leaves him, he goes after Megan to tell her he loves her as well... Everything went far too smooth and made the story a bit dull, imo.
END of SPOILERS
But anyhow: If you enjoy a sweet romance, don't mind clichés too much and if happy endings are a must for you, then this story may be a story for you. However, if you prefer more unique storylines and characters with more depth, then this is not a story for you.
