As I finished this book, it'd be unfair to give just one point, so I raised it up to two.
The story itself could be interesting, and it doesn't take long to read. And I think I got it very cheaply. Those are the positives.
The negatives are that the book is written in easy short sentences. For the story, while I don't expect detectives in crime stories to act as they would be in real life, it was getting a bit silly at times with potential suspects being allowed to take part in every part of the investigation, and being told information that the public doesn't know.
What mostly annoyed me was the writing style - I just thought it very badly written. So people can make up their own mind, here some examples:
'Her gaze slid over him. He wasn't clasically handsome, she knew that. He was big and muscled. Strong. He still had his holster on - she could see the outline of his weapon. He was a dangerous man, with a dangerous job.
But he made her feel safe.'
'Katherine walked away. The shower kicked on a few moments later. He heard the spray of water from the next room.
His breath rushed out. Sonofabitch. He wasn't used to turning away from a woman who looked like a wet dream.'
