Rezension bezieht sich auf: There Were Giants Upon the Earth: Gods, Demigods, and Human Ancestry: The Evidence of Alien DNA (Earth Chronicles) (Kindle Edition)
Sitchin tackles issues in a very methodical way that makes for pretty gripping reading. I haven't made up my mind if he is "right" yet because I'm doing other ("mainstream") reading too. His book has shown me that, with the lack of direct "evidence" you sometimes have to read between the lines. Some of his theories are a little too way out for me, but he is a very disciplined and thorough writer. His translations remain disputed, but I don't think the specifics are too important, the "bigger picture" he paints is important here in challenging all our age-old assumptions. What he does manage to convince me of is the formidable role Mesopotamia played in establishing civilization. You don't have to agree with him on everything, but give him a chance to put his case. Maverick theories are never popular in their own times. He convincingly argues that history the way we have been taught it cannot be right all the time. Unlike the "ancient aliens theorists" he does make a distinction between god and God. What many miss is that he never really tells you what to think and in that he is "Socratic": he tends to answer questions with new ones.
